Krakouer gets the all-clear for Victorian move
By Jake Niall
March 17, 2005

Former Kangaroo champion Jim Krakouer will fly back to Victoria in the next 48 hours to begin a new life and see his son Andrew play AFL football for the first time.

Krakouer has indicated that the prospect of spending time with son Andrew and watching him play for Richmond are significant factors in his decision to move to Melbourne.

Krakouer was unable to get day release to see Andrew play when the Tigers played West Coast in Perth last year.
---------------------------------------------

A. Krakouer will be flying against the Cats, playing in front of his Father for the first time in the AFL.
Got to be worth at least 2 goals. Krakouer = Best on groung

good to see that he will finally be able to play in front of his dad. he'd be very nervous i bet. i wouldnt expect to much of him. he'll play real well or player below average. i was in the same situation wen my dad came to watch me play a game of footy for the first time in 3-4 years. i played a shoker cause i was very nervous, it threw my mind of the game. hopefully he'll go alright.

You might disagree however if he was in ur family u would give him that chance i am sure
.

Maybe I would my friend. Impossible to answer unless put in that situation I spose.

Everyone needs a second chance.

The person he killed will never get a 2nd chance.

If you were that persons mother would you want Krakouers old man to get another chance?

Not really no but he has paid the price by spending time in jail even though it should of been longer. Wonder how Andrew would feel about all of what has happened.

Sure everyone deserves a second chance. The difference is this would have to be his fourth or fifth chance. Not many people are so lucky.

Murderer and a Drug Dealer.

You never learn do you, do you understand the concept of slander? I really hope your big mouth teaches you a real lesson one day as you really need to learn to shut it more often than you open it

He was never charged nor found guilty of murder, it was an accident in which he was at fault. They call it manslaughter and there is a huge difference.

Drug dealer & person which has killed via accident which he was at fault.

jesus christ - how many years did he get locked up for for frug dealing and manslaughter?? I know it was an absolute joke how long! They guy has paid his due's to society - and considering how badly treated aborigines were treated still in those days - it's little suprise he went down that path. I know my fair share of people who have gotten themselves into the wrong side of life and have moved on, & since regreted it. Im sure his father would be no different

My people have the a very differnt point of view. They beleive they which deal drugs, murder, commit man slaughter, rape etc. are not in jail long enough. The 'joke' is quite the oppisite.

Maybe so.

Simply not an excuse.

As do I. A couple blokes I know are fairly addicted to hard drugs. Its really not a pretty sight.

My mates girlfriend died when a drunk driver hit her a few years back. Granted, it wasnt 'murder' but its still pretty harsh on the family and loved ones to see this person which killed your child to be let out of jail.

Just giving you the other side of the argument my friend.

Drugs are a social problem - which is more affected with people who come from struggling backgrounds - Rape is not...

And unless you are aboriginal and had to grow up in a poor aboriginal background - then how can YOU possibly say it is not an excuse - There is a reason that racially abused blacks all across the world have high rates of drug use and drug related crimes...

You think you know everything sometime bentleigh

People which deal drugs are a social problem.

Having a struggling background is not an excuse.

I relise some abroginals have 'tough backgrounds'. I have friends in the Riverlad (South Autralia). Mates which attend school with close to the highest drugs and crime rates in Australia where many aboriginal attends.
I also go to Lakes Entrance regualry and see the Aboriginals from Lake Eye and there problems.

Im mates & play footy with a bloke which family drink wine casks outside Luna Park (Melbourne) and I beleive i can see there issues fairly well.

At the end of the day you cannot use your skin colour or background as excuse for your actions.

I am not aboriginal nor lived with them but

You can use skin colour and background as excuse? In your little world at least?

So Krak should have got less time in jail than a white person due to his "struggling background' ?

How does killing someone " by accident " constitute murder ?

Sometimes Bentleigh you are 24 carat pure Jackass

I take back murder.

He killed a person. - this person was killed via accident which he was at fault.
