I watched the Cleveland-Pacers game the other day and was astounded at how quickly Kyrie Irving has already adapted to the NBA. Now of course, as the number 1 talent, he's bound to have talent, but he's already showing on court leadership, as well as skill.

As he has a dual american-australian citizenship, i feel we should really get him into the Australian team. He has expressed his desire to play for australia:thumbsu:

What are everyone's thoughts on him?

He looks absolutely amazing. Fantastic pick up by my Cavs, and will hopefully be better than Lebron.

He won't play for Australia though. He has already committed to playing for team USA. He has played a game for America at the age of 18, meaning he is stuck with them for the rest of his career.

i rekon he'll become one of the top 5 pg's in the league in the next 4 years

I didnt know he played for america. Thats actually shattering, would have loved to have had 3 genuine nba players in the line up

Thats not as much of a farfetched call however

He's looking pretty decent, imagine when he has good players to work with

False and potentially false.

1) Hasn't committed to Australia or the USA.

2) He still can represent Australia if they get clearance from FIBA and Basketball USA which isn't out of the realm of possibilities.

bogut, irving and ?????

top 5 in the next 4 years. a real possibility. rose, rondo, paul, wall, rubio. one of them he's gotta knock off.

Clearly they are Dan Gilbert's Cavs. /ben

The only other Aussie i can think of is Patty Mills, but he wasn't even a starter when he was in the NBA, and iirc, he isn't currently playing as he signed elsewhere during the lockout

Lets just hope he averages 50 points and 40 assists in a game, shall we?

We all know he won't be better than LeBron, they're two completely different players in two different positions. And Kyrie will leave the Cavs when his contract runs out...

He's already top 10 now IMO.

Rose, Rondo, Paul, Wall, Williams, Westbrook, Rubio and Irving.

He should quickly overtake Rubio and Westbrook, and possibly even Williams in this year alone.

He was when he was playing in the NBA.

disagree respectfully. that's like saying luke schensher was a genuine NBA player when he was in the league.

perhaps on another team he can cut his niche. i think he has the ability and in the right situation and playing time can contribute well. wish his chinese team would let him go back.

Patty Mills was decent when he came on the court
I bet he regrets playing in china now! I dont know if he'll ever become a starter on an NBA list, but he's still a decent NBA player

Wow some massive calls on Irving. He's going well for a rookie but its a fair stretch to say he is a top 10 PG right now.
