I don’t think he’s worth a first round pick. A bloke who was taken with 58, then delisted and re-rookied? In what world is he worth more than Liam Henry who was taken in the top 10? Only in a delusional Collingwood world! One flag, we’re all happy for an eternity!!
Do you know why he was delisted and re-rookied? It was discussed a lot

Collingwood's '23 flag made me very happy.

It has no bearing on my current view of the club nor does it impact my overall sense of wellbeing.

Collingwood has played 2 (very) bad games and being true to form we'll turn on the club, the club's recruiting, and the players themselves.

I reserve my god-given right to do that eventually, and to microwave my membership, but I think doing so now might be going a little early.

Stay awesome, Stronzo.

We haven't had a good record with trading out our future first.

From recollection Treloar was a first round as well as a future first round.
Gave our first round to GWS where we finished 2nd last. (Cadman)
Future first for Schultz. Time will tell if this one will also bite us.

Any more and any successful future firsts that did prove good value?

Schultz is elite in most areas.

Dan Mcstay took awhile to settle in, and was heavily crucified on here. Now he’s injured he’s the messiah.

Let’s give this bloke some time, he’s been far from our worst in a team that’s been flogged in 2 games. Not exactly a small forwards dream game in a new team setup

He's the messiah because we have no high quality reliable KPF talent on the list.

He's had 2 very good years, prior to that not so much.

Only 2 seasons where he broke 30 goals and elite defensive pressure.

He cost a future first and a 2nd rounder.
Also pushed Ginnivan out, the club doesn't make/initiate that trade with Hawks without securing Schultz.

That is a high cost for really what wasn't a position of need and more cream on top.

Future first and a 2nd rounder. Plus Ginni out.

That is basically what we got for Dayne Beams at the height of his powers at 23 yo pending ladder finish.
For a small forward with only 2 good seasons behind him.

This is a hilarious line of analysis. The two most recent seasons, where he made marked improvements in almost every way, should be taken with a grain of salt because of (rather irrelevant) previous seasons? What??

In two games where we've been beaten pretty easily, he's still getting 13 touches, threatening the scoreboard, tackling well and presenting all over the field.

I’m still feeling it.

His cost is high regardless of his 2 improved years.
Who said anything about them being taken with a grain of salt? Hopefully that's his standard now for his remainder years, great.

More so pointing out its only been 2 out of 8 years, its a high cost for such a small timeframe one of which he was delisted in.

The only person who has said that any seasons should be dismissed is you, with anything prior to his last 2 improved years "irrelevant".

He was also not a list need for said cost. Imo we had other holes that need addressing and an eye on 2025 onwards wouldn't hurt either.
Hope we don't waist the best of Nick Daicos prime years when there's a rebuild coming.

Realistically he’s been recruited to be the Elliot replacement, not the Ginnivan replacement. Bobby Hill superseded Ginni last year. So there was definitely a need, as we have on most lines with an aging ( Premiership) list.

It’s an inauspicious start but way too early to early to be bemoaning his trade value, and irrelevant to be discussing the Stephenson draft selection.

Can you explain that pls. Because Cadman went at number one.

The GWS one was Callaghan (no.3 after WB matched a bid on Darcy).

Once again, I will make the same observation that I always make. Why do we give away a future 1st round pick when we have a total dearth of young key or project forwards on our list? We have seen clearly how bad our key position stocks are after these 1st 2 games. In my mind Schultz will have to kick 40 goals in 2024 to justify us giving Fremantle our 1st Round selection in 2024. I mean why do we go into another draft already handicapped when we have clear deficiencies? Did we really need another small forward when we already had Bobby Hill, Jamie Elliott, Beau McReery plus back in November we also had Jack Ginnivan who just happened to kick 2.3 against Essendon yesterday & was in their best 6 players. I just do not understand Collingwood's recruiting strategy again & again. Every other team in the AFL are working their backsides off to find a diamond in the rough when it comes to key forwards. But not us. We are totally risk-averse. I mean I did some research in terms of Joel Amartey who plays for the Swans. He was taken at pick 28 in the 2018 Rookie Draft. We had pick 6 & chose another midget in Flynn Appleby. I am also sure that St Kilda selected Anthony Carmannati - if that is the correct spelling - from the SSP Draft in early 2023. I am not saying either of those blokes are going to be champions but I reckon that they will both have better AFL careers than another one of our recent small draftees in Joe Richards. Other players that come to mind - that we're either very late draft selections or picked up in Rookie Draft and/or SSP selections - include Mitch Lewis at Hawthorn & Jake Riccardi at GWS. Moreover all of those blokes would apply far more pressure & intensity than Ash Johnson. Goodbye & good luck.

We won a flag . Maybe you missed it.

That's not the view of the club, it's yours.

You are entitled to this opinion but it is not a fact.

I suspect you were a fan of Ginni and perhaps feel that Lachie pushed him out (which might very well be the case).

If the club wanted Ginni he'd still be there.
