Btw on the high price we paid, outside of F/S selections, how many players in our current best 22 were drafted by Collingwood with a first round draft pick?

Pendles and Sidey were first round selections, both were of course drafted before the internet was invented.

De Goey was also one, even though he didn’t play today.

The trade has ended up being slightly bad. Not totally but it was always a risk. Schultz is still a very good player though. Worth a pick in the 10-15 region.

Atrocious? That's a cringeworthy comment. He finished with 16 possessions and 4 shots on goal playing a small forward role and in spite of mistakes (like all of his teammates) did a lot right before that final burst of magic. At worst he's had an average year.

Which shows what a lottery it is, 3 success stories in 20 years, of course the club is better off taking a punt on a ready made replacement when in the window.

Shultz is apparently worth a first and second round pick.

He is worth that. But if you want to get technical imo he is worth pick 15 and pick 34.

But we will probably pay pick 10-12 and 34.

Not all 1st rounders are the same and most outside of pick 15 are fairly speculative.

The problem is everyone wants to compare him to Ginni who wanted out, so we needed to replace him. Schultz has more goals from same amount of games.

When you’re the reigning premiers sometimes you’ll have to pay overs to fill a gap.

We didn’t need to replace Ginnivan as he wasn’t best 22.

Adams was the one we needed to replace and atm that looks to be going well.

We got him in October last year as part of a much-maligned trade on paper but it turns out to be working wonders. We have another match-winner like Elliott and Schultz showed his potential today.

I love how people can be so certain of odd opinions ... Actually I don't.

It wasn't totally incorrect.

Schultz has had a solid year but has had some poor games and poor moments within many of them.
He is not a clean one take type nor has he been typically clean or class finisher at goal.

Has been consistent for effort, gives 100% and cracks in with all he has got. Has had an ok year for output.

I would imagine in a more settled fwd lineup we will see him improve on it, will be a solid player for us. Great last 5 mins tonight and really stood up. Well done.

It's amazing people can't separate the 2 isn't it.

Also bemused me that people struggle to have even keel conversations around pies and the players within it.

As in some people only see positives and don't have a bad word said about any player as if they are perfect.

Some people get uber defensive over certain players even if you are saying they are amazing players but does have X weaknesses to improve. Etc. Some just can't handle the truth.
