Does anyone remember how skinny he was when he first arrived at the club?

I saw him at a VFL game in his first season at Visy Park and I don't think I jhad ever seen a skinnier man.

Here's a photo from when he started and believe me this photo is very generous in that it makes him look twice as heavy as he was!

If Lachy had not done his knee he would be AA already,he was close to the best KPD in 2012 before he got hurt.It is fantastic to hear he is making such a rapid recovery from his injury and I think he will become a leader in time at the club and he is exactly the sort of bloke we need at the club.:thumbsu:

Whoever spotted Keeffey did a great job there is not many 204 cm blokes around who move as well as he does and with good skills into the bargain the club scored a keeper when was drafted.

I agree he would be a better player without the knee, he was having a breakout year but I think we view his season better than it was because it was a great effort for a player with a handful of games to come in and compete so well and beat a few of his opponents

So after watching footage on the AFL smart replay i have been able to clarify this.
Elimination final/ Had no direct goals kicked on him.
Round 23/ kept Tarrant goaless
Round 22/ Keeffe had not direct goals scored on him, Lycett scored 1 against Seedsman from an apparent chop of the arms.
Round 21/ Had 1 direct goal scored on him by Buddy
Round 20/ had 1 direct goal scored on him by Tippet, kept white goaless while on him
Round 19/ had 1 goal scored on him by Gumbleton
Round 18/ Cameron kicked 3 on him in 3 quarters
Round 17/ brennan kicked 1 direct goal on Keeffe, after pushing Keeffe right in the back and marking the ball, such a brennan thing to do and surprisingly Keeffe didnt get a free kick. The other goal was when Campbell Brown was running straight into the goals by himself, Keeffe probably did the right thing bye running off brennan to put pressure Brown, but then Brown handpassed it to Brennan and Brennan scored, everyone who watched that game would know what im talking about. Im not sure whether to count that as a direct goal on Keeffe or not. I added the second goal in the end though

So Keeffe played as our CHB for our last 8 games, he had a total of 7 direct goals scored on him which is an average of 0.875 direct goals scored on him a game after returning from a knee reco and having no preseason.
2013 stats
12.3 disposals a game
5 marks a game
4 spoils a game.
What are everyones thoughts on Keeffes season?

I like what he has shown, and definitely has potential... but I think he is a fair way from being a KPD who can be relied on to do the role week-in week-out. He looks good when the rest of the defensively line, and our midfield are defending well ... but when things weren't going well, there were times when he looked outmanned and lost... and it will take more experience to become a "general" who is coordinating the whole defence (which you like to see from your Key Defenders and something that Brown does quite well IMO).

But after coming back from the ACL he is definitely on the right track.

As I have also said before - I would really like him to add just a bit of rucking to his game so that he can be useful if he needs to be thrown into the ruck. (will also go a long way to garauntee him a spot in the 22 if Bucks decides to send Ried back to defence)

He stood up when we were decimated by backline injuries, that's leading from the front and in the trenches. Sure he's got a way to go but you are selling him way, way short.

I would rather Reid in defence so he can intercept mark, and Keeffe as the second ruck, he won most of his hitouts against Port Adelaide and kicked a goal. I just wished he was used in the Ruck more that game.

Bahaha, yeah I can see your point with his whole 1 Hit out for the game.

As a ruckman Keefe makes a great forward, and that is saying something.

Looking at lachys progress attitude height skills etc we have got a chb that will play in and win a few premierships will be multiple AA will be a genuine star of the AFL and later in his career will eventually captain tha club no I'm not related but this is just how I feel about this boy I've just got the gut feeling this bloke is going to be a champion
