yea really like ryder cant help but comparing him to franklin for obvious reasons that injection of speed from davey & jetta has made u better but i still think u need that in midfield. gumbleton can play but in all honesty i think hansen leuenberger & thorpe all looked better then him last year

We must have been watching different games.

I was over the moon when we picked up Gumby as he was the standout KPP player in the draft by a long way.

I believe there will be a massive difference between him and Hanson by the time they have both developed.

Luenberger is a massive talent but did we need another ruckman?, it's debateable.

Thorpe looks ok, but to say he looked better than Gumby is based more on your hawthorn bias rather than reality.

I was very happy when we picked up Gumby too. He was probably the best player in the draft. Gibbs hasn't really done much. Gumby is the next Pavlich (touch wood) or Lloyd (touch two woods)

Gumbleton will probably be the best of the draft IMO. When iv'e seen him play he looks more like Riewoldt than Pav or anyone else for that matter. He's just so good overhead which I guess is the reason he reminds me of Riewoldt so much.

best players in that draft will be thorp & selwood

You say that as if it is a matter of fact.

Maybe you should be working at an AFL club, as you obviously have far more talent assessment capabilities than any one else who works at a club.

Even those guys can't say who will be the best, they have an opinion sure, but generally are just hoping their players turn out good

Can i borrow your crystal ball please, i need this weeks tatts numbers

Would you class Watson as a middle tier player? I thought that he was in the upper class in the team and was one of our elite midfielders would be in our top 3 of midfielders. Hopefully Winderlich can become/develop into more than just a middle tier player, and i think he will.

Watson is in the upper range of the middle tier IMO. This list was just off the top of my head. If middle tier is 7-12 then he could be around the 7 mark? Would rank Hird, Fletcher, Lucas, Lloyd, Stanton, Hille above him....

Agree

Still am not convinced that they r better than Gumby.

This argument could continue well into 2010 and beyond. Gumby is doing everything that we would expect of him thus far. Has been kicking goals in the VFL and is developing. Just because he is yet to debut in the AFL does not mean that they others are better. Essendon is in a good position for KPP's ATM. Sheedy will keep developing Gumby in the VFL until he is ready. My prediction is that when he finally does get a game he will be AFL ready and will dominate!!

Totally agree!!!

exactly its all opionion until one of them can prove themselves at the level for a period of time so far you'd have to say selwood has been the most impressive but time will tell.
