yea kpp win u flags, this may seem biased but i believe we have most area's covered aslong as everyone keeps improving as they are obvious exceptions are the small quick crumbing forward & a skillful outside midfielder, with the draft selections its just culculated guessing even thoe its becoming more of a science every year

chf win u games but its hard to comment on other 2 never sore them but i get your point tell me the difference in the last 2 grannys & tell me why the results were reversed

Yeah you guys will do ok. Need to get some more games into guys like Lewis, Franklin and Roughead. Great players that will reach their prime in a couple of years. I know Hodge plays back a bit - is skillful though. Yeah forward offensive quick players are almost essential to a team atm. Apparently you can just pick them up as you need them in the draft.... :p

haha yea we have an influx of great kpp forwards but minimal crumming ones hodge is so good becuase he can get hard footy but get the easy footy aswell & play everywhere on the ground what we need is a dal santo type to develop as that gun user of the footy we have most other positions covered if gilham keeps developing aswell as dawson

one team on the way up. the other on the way down. (if you look at the ladder positions now). A 1 point victory is too difficult to explain, the butterfly effect. What are you getting at?

How is Youngy going? I went to school with his brother.

yea took a massive step forward on sunday he goes into the bracket of taylor mcglynn gilham boyle who i was sceptical of at the start of the year but have been impressive & are the reason y we r where we r.
its good to have an insightful chat tried to have the same on the tigers & doggies bored & just got shut down.

Big fan of Boyle. Who are Hawks fringe players and how do they match up to Essendon? Can you give me 6 Hawthorn Fringe players. This might give us an idea how each team is going.

read a story last year that some of the boys went down that way & did something with him & some other down syndrome kids

i think ours purely for the fact none of them played on the weekend where some of yourse did so i think maybe our depth is better where all them are not playing either injured or not getting a game where some of your ones are playing like the fringe players in the side would be mcglynn smith young who are probably better then the ones u mentioned

Yeah fair call, I think your depth is probably better. Definitely a better depth in the youth department. The benefits of the youth policy starting to come through. Vandenberg and Jacobs are injured though so that is prob why they weren't playing ;)

jacobs is fit got dropped on the weekend & played for box hill as the young kids kick on he'll slowly be gone did u find at essendon he looks incredibly lazy he has the tools to be a good player but just doesn't do enough. yea i think we have the best depth in kids but who knows they could all go off the rails

Well as I understand it he left Essendon purely to get more money. That he was white trash and only wanted money. (perhaps I am just bitter ;)) I always thought he had good skills, perhaps a bit slow. Slow looks a bit like lazy I guess... look at Richard Cole (Fat and slow also = lazy)

its been good having some good banter good luck for the rest of the season & i'm sure we'll have a chat about something in the future

yea thats tru but i guess unless u have a good look at each list your not 100% which is better

Yeah it's hard to say because more than the list determines how a season plays out. So to get back to your original point about middle tier players so many other factors are important: collegiality, the coach, injuries, leadership, off field drama, drug addictions & associating with criminals. Nothing is certain. We have had lots of close wins so who knows.... thanks for the chat.:thumbsu:

Ok then who would you rather:

vandenberg dixon thorpe muston clark jacobs or

Monfries, Nash, Bradley, Campo, Laycock, Bolton
Replace Bolton with Dyson

Bolton should not be in the team, form doesnt warrent a selection.

ok sorry didn't mean to steal your thunder. By the way it is good conversing with another team's supporter in a civil manner for a change. :) Some players like Watson, Lovett, Davey, McVeigh, Welsh, Winderlich are good enough middle Tier players IMO. It is the ones I mentioned that are the problem.
Would you class Watson as a middle tier player? I thought that he was in the upper class in the team and was one of our elite midfielders would be in our top 3 of midfielders. Hopefully Winderlich can become/develop into more than just a middle tier player, and i think he will.

yea really like ryder cant help but comparing him to franklin for obvious reasons that injection of speed from davey & jetta has made u better but i still think u need that in midfield. gumbleton can play but in all honesty i think hansen leuenberger & thorpe all looked better then him last year

A lot of others saw it differently and had Gumbleton the best player out of that group. I thought he was pretty much even with Hanson last year.

do you think this year might be bad for your development let me explain before you shoot me down but all your guns are the wrong side of 30 & therefore wont be around much longer would u agree that maybe it would of been a good time to rebuild get some moor quality youngsters to the club do u think possibly this year might be dentimental to the future of the club just a thought

So what you are saying is we should have told Hird not to bother playing this year. ***** off Hirdy and retire.
Then we should have told Fletcher , Lucas and Lloyd that they had no future at the club and they where going to be traded.
Heres a little fact for you , over the last 4 years only Hawthorn has brought more kids onto their list than us.So you could say we have already been doing a fair bit of rebuilding. We have turned over about half our list in the last 3 years.

Ok I will just give a few of my thoughts. The big problem with Essendon is the lack of players in thier mid-twenties with about 100 games experience (In fact we don't have any 25 year olds). This is mainly because of poor drafting at the turn of the century.
