Don't cry old mate, it's not that bad, I for one have more in my life than trying to be Mr funny man of the forum xxx
I too have a lot in my life. This forum is but a small part of that.

What a terrible person I must be trying to have a bit of fun.

Trying to give people a bit of a laugh now and then.

Oh the shame I’ve brought upon myself 😔

I'm ignoring their comments.

b

cannot just ignore the warning signs

Yep that’s what I surmised.
Some weeks ( 6?) and a suspended sentence for the rest.
I think they’ll give him 10 cause they don’t give a shit about anything but sending a message at this point.

The logical outcome (noting none of this has been logical) would be a lesser sentence due to mitigating circumstances with the evidence and process to ensure this doesn’t go to court.

As it stands I think we’ll see this head to court.

Yeh it’s real post news cycle dump shit. Piss poor from the afl which has been piss poor throughout.
We really shouldn’t be surprised anymore though.

If he gets 10 weeks, it's not career ending.

He should get 10 weeks... they found him guilty... second offence.... first was 6.

If they say he's guilty they have to give him a longer ban than last time. Simple logic.

I'm purely talking about the system that is in place... not what's right or wrong, or if the verdict is justified.
As far as I’m aware, the written findings haven’t been released yet.

So when you say “found him guilty”. We don’t even know to what extent. Because if all they have done is satisfy their own appetite - that is unwritten, then we are condemning a bloke pretty much because of a prior incident- that he admitted.

Put it this way, if this was Bont Cripps or Naicos. Would you be seeing a fairer crack of the whip here for them?

The real question I have is does the club intend to appeal it .We have heard the strong stance Bassett has taken on not being pushed around ad a club anymore ,if doesn’t appeal, all of the big talk is all nonsense and rhetoric.
It’s not what is the truth, it’s what you can prove .

The findings will be that there were two witnesses and we have no reason to believe they are lying or misheard, they were unequivocal in saying they heard it.

Which doesn’t mean Collard said it and says he hasn’t been given a fair process.

As I’ve already posted today. Everything said and done has been that the AFL already believed he was Guilty. They weren’t trying to find guilt.

I’m not close to being a homophobe or a racist, far far from.

We live in the most multi cultural country in the world, I’ve never judged anyone by, nationality, religion, sexual orientation etc.

But what I can’t stomach is the way the world is heading.

I’m in for a meniscus clean up next week (I’m not Max), and on my hospital admission form I had to nominate my current sex and if it’s the same sex I was born as. What are my pronouns. This isn’t normal behaviour anymore.

This is a generation trying to over correct for the ones that had a hard life, struggling to adapt to society by keeping a secret to themselves.

We’ve now overcome that I feel, from a majority sense. You’ll always have a minority, in every single walk of life.

As someone mentioned earlier, a threat to hurt is seen as minor issue compared to a hurtful word.

Again, far from racist or a homophobe. In private, do I say words I would never repeat in public or at my workplace, absolutely. Does it mean I think differently towards certain people, not at all.

I still feel for Collard, even if he did say it, he likely wouldn’t have meant it literally.

It is a word that has fallen out use a bit.
I have a couple of friends that call each other maggot. Incessantly. They have their own theme song. I hear the word often.
Apart from those guys, I don't hear it. Eeeeevrybody different.

It would be interesting to chat to a couple of his mates. They would know.

My post wasn't commenting on any of that.

The process is dogshit but it’s a bit pointless decrying the process in regards to the outcome at this point.

Semantics over finding him guilty will only dictate the sentence (and we’re all expecting that to be extreme).

Bont, Cripps or anyone wise without a prior isn’t a fair comparison. Rankine woukd be the only reasonable comparison and I’ve got no idea to your question, probably not but nothing about this has been fair.

Surely there has to be an appeal.
The big question is, if the appeal gets thrown out, do we take it further?

In my mind’s machinations, I’m thinking, maybe stupidly, that there was a deal to find him guilty (AFL “wins”) and then an agreement that the Appeals Court will find for Collard
( thereby saving the AFL from a lawsuit yet still giving them the moral high ground 🙄 showing them attempting to do the right thing ie face saving exercise.)

Does this scenario make any sense at all ?

Hill, Ryan, NWM for a start, always together.

Shame they’ll be silenced.

Really lost it at “normal behaviour” for pronouns. At best who cares at worst gender affirmation isn’t normal.

Modern society seems just fine with it, I’d suggest moving on.

Makes as much sense as most of this process so I’d say it’s live

There's obviously some doubt..I don't really understand the process..it seems like they are looking more at a balance of probabilities kind of outcome. Can we appeal it and say the process isn't fair? It's a really unusual one. Seems like it's going to drag out for a while.

It’s entirely relevant.

His previous indiscretion should only be relevant to the punishment. Yet it’s been constantly referred to throughout this process by the media. Posts on here have even done it and it’s fair to say a bias against him in this case.

You’re still speaking like it’s a court, it’s not, I have little doubt his previous incident likely influenced the outcome and I’d bet there’s absolutely nothing in their process that forbids it

We don’t even know what the process is here.

And considering they were arguing about legal jargon late on. It’s not as clean cut as you are making it out
