Ive got a Sony Vaio VGN-BX195EP and ive had it for a couple of years. Im not that great with computers but this is what i could find.

Intel(R) Celeron(R) M
processor 1.60GHz
1.60GHz, 1.99GB of RAM
Physical Address Extension

100GB Hard Drive.

Might be worth finding a restore point before you downloaded that stuff and wind your pc back . I' had a similar issue with other software and found that it worked for me...Your case however..try and see

There is your problem! you should have bought the TURBO Physical Address Extension, makes it go quicker.......

Just kidding.

Are you using Vista? 1/2 your problem...anyway couple of ideas.

Make sure you do not have large files on your desktop, create a new folder called C:/Desktop Files and cut&copy all downloads/files from desktop to there (dont move icon shortcuts)

Delete all files under c:\temp
Delete all Internet temporary files (or whatever browser you are using ie Firefox)

Make sure you have latest antivirus scanning software and scan laptop
Antivir, superantispyware, Spybot, avg, adaware are all good and free

2Gb memory should be fine so I wouldnt be upgarding memory

Maybe you can restore Laptop to a previous restore point, say before you installed iphone software...google "restoring from restore points"

Thing is its hard to tell you exactly what coul dbe wrong with it without being able to see it. Best thing for you is to get some savvy computer geek to have a look at it for you.....

the following site can be helpful, it is very time consuming especially for novice laptop users, but if you do have time and dont want to pay for someone to clean up your notebook, you will learn a lot and could be interesting maybe not fun :) (careful when using REGEDIT and if you arent sure ask before attempting something) also once you ahve cleaned up your laptop, regular maintenance is required......

1.6 is a pretty slow computer compared to ones out there today. As Gman said delete all tempory files, make sure you have a good anti-virus software. Something else I would do is a defragmentation. This is basically getting the files spread out all over your hard drive and re-organising them so that you have more space. More space obviously means your computer will go faster. Defragmenting your hard drive doesn't effect what folder your work is in so you won't need to worry about searching around. You can defragment your hard drive by going start> all programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Defragmenter. Highlight the (C:) Drive and click defragment. It's reccomended that you don't use your computer while it's defragmenting. There is also a Disk Cleanup program that you might like to use. Hope I didn't blab too much......

first port of call:

1) virus scan
2) malware scan (malwarebytes)
3) registry clean
4) disk defragment
5) uninstall program to see if it make a difference (if your Laptop runs normally with it uninstalled then it is the program)
6) re-download the program in case the one you have is corrupted
7) use google to see if anyone else has had similar issues

remember: upgraded programs aren't always better. If all else fail go back to the previous version you were using or contact the support for the program and ask advice.
