I was at a 21st, and we went to crown afterwards with a few mates, was about 4:30am.. as I'm walking in I see Antonious Rocca and two friends (one male and one female).
Put simply, it would be the understatement of the century to say that Rocca was off his head. I had about a 5 minute conversation with him as he was apparently waiting for a cab. Within that time the following happened:

He came and gave me a hug expecting somebody to take a photo, when I never even mentioned taking a photo.
He mumbled "I want to take my ****ing car home but the problem is Eddie will ****ing kill me" about 3 times in 3 minutes.
I asked him whether he was gonna bring the cup to the lexus centre in 2009, and got a reply of " I'm gonna take all the ****ing cups and plates from the mcg home next year."
He walked off to talk to one of the workers, and came back saying " Mate! They've got us a ****ing limo!!"

My mates and I walked in at that point, but he's an absolutely hilarious drunk.
I can assure you guys I wasn't drunk, as I was the designated driver.
I know footballers probably do this all the time but I couldn't help but feel disappointed to see it personally. Probably a nothing thread.

Well this 1 of the few times when players can let loose a bit in XMAS and New Years Time as Long as they don't do it close to Training and don't go over board.

Good to see that Heater and Dids lesson has gotten through and Not Drink and Driving:thumbsu:

I'm still laughing at the image of Rocca hugging someone and then putting his arm around them staring into space grinning for an imaginary camera.

Top stuff.

We were standing like that for about five seconds, my mate didn't know who he was and was close to shitting himself with this massive guy staring at him. Had a good laugh about it afterwards.

Yeah that is good. Atleast he had Eddie in his mind:p

Hahahaha good on him.

Senior player, last day of training before the break. If he wants to go on a bender, good on him. As long as he doesn't cause trouble or get himself hurt, no problems here.

I actually mentioned it to my cousin last night in the city. Collingwood had their last session today before the xmas break so there'd be a few out tonight.

I can only imagine Pebbles hugging you waiting for a picture with that goofy smile of his. My sides would be splitting.

it's a disgrace that u posted that about rocca

if u were a true collingwood man and showed respect u would never post information like that

poor effort and no respect shown to rocca

Yeh, I hear Today Tonight have been chasing Rocca down the roads all day after hearing he was on the piss.

While I could almost agree with you, I think it's also good to know that the players have learned from Shaw and Didak's incident.

I would think that Rocca was only trying to be funny. Even if Shaw/Didak never happened, Rocca would have taken a cab.

It's a victimless crime, like punching someone in the dark.

Seriously though, I imagine he's allowed to get out on the turps during the Christmas break as long as he comes back in decent nick in January. Players aren't robots, we shouldn't expect them to be. As long as he didn't drive home it's all good.

We'd be a lot better off if some of our younger players conducted themselves in the way Anthony Rocca has conducted himslef throughout his career.

No, you're wrong.

This is absolutely disgraceful! Rocca is to be axed from the CFC straight away! That is absolutely shocking behaviour, and Eddie wouldn't accept it!

How dare he! Seriously! Smiling when theres no camera...

Why is it disappointing ? The bloke is a human being. He is entitled to a break. The thing about professional sportsmen is that when they go home after 8 hrs at their office, they can't eat crap or drink. Here is a bloke who has some time off so lets his hair down and some tool says it's disappointning. You're even more of a waste of space for mentioning it. If I didn't know bettter I'd say you were some D grade journalist trying to crack it into the media by reporting a ridiculous story because a Collingwood player is involved. If I was to go to the media with everything that I saw at the Tunnel at the early 90's then there would've been a lot of players sacked. Let these blokes have some sort of private life and leave stories like this where they belong, 10 years time at a mates barbie. Believe me, early 90's at the Tunnel, 3AM, feet sticking to the carpet, AFL footballers were doing stuff that would get them sacked these days. And it wasn't because they were dancing on the piano.

Relax mate, he knows if he smiles at a camera it renders it useless. Just let him have the odd bender, we all need it.

As long as it doesn't ruin his fitness base and he is all ready to go in January then i suppose it isn't to bad. yet if i was a coach and got light of this story i would tell him to pull his head in a little, at least be home by 12-1, cause we don't need anymore trouble.
