Maybe I got out of bed on the right side, I dont think its that. As much as I hate Carlton, I'd hate it more if they weren't around. I always say if I were to only go to a handful of games a year it would be the grandslams ..Blues, Bombers or the woods. There is nothing to compare being at the "G" 65,000 + with rival supporters baying for blood. ;The interstaters could Only dream of this....for all the Interlopers are worth , we'd miss them about as much as yesterdays paper if they were gone. However the pillars of this great game remain the foundation for all that is good about AFL, the tradition, the rivalry. Something that money just cant buy...Here's to the Vics:thumbsu:

and the vic clubs can only dream of playing in grand finals and making a profit in the vicinity of 1 million dollars a year.

I hate them with a passion, which is better than not really giving a sh#t about them, as is the case with the interlopers.

I too would be upset to see them go. The big Victorian rivalries are the best part of footy and are the essence of the game.

*IRONY ALERT*

You've made one grand final, Dwayne Russell said your supporters couldn't afford finals tickets a few years back and you asked the AFL for assistance last year. ;)

Pratt could buy out Alan Scott with his loose change.

Something the interstaters will never experience. Nothing better than attending an all melbourne game with two sets of supporters going for it.

On the flip side, nothing worst that watching your team playing an interstater. Just a dull atmosphere (especially if your team is getting done!!!). Only Adelaide and the swans pull supporters in Melbourne.

The big Western Australian rivalry and the big South Australian rivalry are also good.

Something the Victorians will never experience. Nothing better than attending an all-WA/all-SA game with two sets of supporters going for it.

On the flipside, nothing worst[sic] that[sic] watching your team playing some tin-arse VFL relic, kept alive through AFL cash injection. Just a dull atmosphere (even though your team invariably romps it in!!!).

Only West Coast and Adelaide pull supporters in Perth/Adelaide.

A West Coast home game against Freo would be 90% eagles supporters. Not the same.

Just dont have the history of the Victorian Clubs, the home of football!

I think Carlton is great, and it's an easy win whenever you play them.

Abit like Sydney of the eighties and nineties.
Will be funny when Sydney are sh1t again and have no supporters going to the games again, the good thing with the Vic clubs, their supporters are loyal through thick and thin.

I love how Carlton think they are all of a sudden out of debt because they have some millionaire in charge.

Why not?

He is not "some millionare", he's a billionare and one of Australia's most successful businessmen. He has the connections and the influence to get things back together, even without eliminating the debt with a stroke of a pen.

As a result of his appointment, membership has already been rising dramatically, and people who were disillusioned are now coming back.

This is not some insignificant appointment, and for you to view this in such a way, reeks of ignorance. There is more he can do than just "wipe our debt".

Err, Port Adelaide made a profit of $6000 last year.

Only $994,000 to go before you reach that million dollar profit.

Hmmm, beat me to it Thrawn.
Not only does RP bring $$$ to the table, he also brings one of the best business minds, and a hell of a lot of contacts as well.

Furthermore, if you believe what you read in the papers, and i'm sceptical to say the least about this one, there are 6 other wealthy supporters each willing to put $1M each into the club, on top on the $2M that Pratt is going to put in.

We did make a $million profit last year.
Come back when you make a 5 figure profit, let alone over a million:thumbsu:
