Mate did you watch the replay burgoyne did not move le cras plowed into his leg. Nothing burgoyne could have done. Good game btw guys tough match and worthy of 2nd v 3rdYou just have to shake your head and imagine what LeCras is thinking ". well I cop a week for that !?!? and a Hawk ploughs into me with his knee and splits my head open and the umpire doesn't even pay a free kick. " WTF
Apparently the head is sacrosanct but it very much depends on who's head it is .
Perplexing but then again we are talking about the AFL as they once again spin the chocolate wheel to see where the needle lands to determine what the verdict is .
Also I think this being a week for the bump means that he still carries his two previous strikes.
Accidental high contact is still high contact, Lecca was just picking up the ball... Testament to where the game is headed though, and the wet conditions made it even more difficult. It's as if they don't want players to get the ball, so many quick free kicks for incorrect disposal / htb / etc now, they are rewarding the player that stands back and waits for the tackle.Mate did you watch the replay burgoyne did not move le cras plowed into his leg. I think everyone who knees, jumper punches, gut punches and bumps high gets a week, unless the AFL needs them to play in a blockbuster game for ratings or plays for a team that they consider needs to make finals/top 4 etc.Worst possible outcome then. Had he simply taken a strike and missed a week (which was all the hit was worth) they would have been reset. As it stands these incidents that dont warrant suspensions could result in Lecras missing a final for basically nothing if the MRP decide to drill down on some nothing shit. For example does anyone have the foggiest clue why Lecras was even given a strike last week against the Suns? Meanwhile Fyfe gets a "strike" for shitmixing a bloke with his back turned to the ball..

This is why they keep the system they do, purely so they can manipulate bans based on their more favourable outcome.
People may laugh at me for saying this but everyone agrees the system is inconsistent and plain garbage.
And most want the AFL and MRP to 'sort their shit out' and become professional but nobody asks themselves why the AFL stick with the system they do.
Three ex players decide penalties based on a set of easy to mis-interpret guidelines and the AFL say this is the best model going forward? Give me a break.
Not if the player who got hit high has initiated the contact mate. Burgoyne was just standing there.Accidental high contact is still high contact, Lecca was just picking up the ball... I thought it should have been a free. Had the shoes been on the other feet, I would have thought it should have been a free for Burgoyne too.
