Here are the goals from the weekends match. From what I have read, Tranmere's second goal was inncorrectly ruled offside.

Gutsy comeback win after an awful first half. It was a very good second half where we were far the better side and when Tranmere tired late in the game, the hard training regime the players went through in pre-season paid early dividends when Tres scored the late winner after some sustained pressure.

It was great to see the spirit shown by the team and the huddle after the game just showed how committed they are to the cause.

Leeds did enough to beat Macclesfield town 1-0 in front of around 3500 fans. That crowd would be the lowest that we have played in front of for some time. Constantine will also miss the next 3 months.
The line-up was as follows:
Ankergren, Gardner, Heath, Parker, Lewis, Howson, Prutton (Weston 90), Douglas, Carole (Westlake 46), Kandol, Elliott (Beckford 46).

solid start so far, though i wouldnt mind seeing some more dominant displays. it is pretty early in the season however...

we havent lost an opening day fixture since like 1989, the year i think we won the title
generally though in the last few seasons, after winning opening day we follow up with a dismal loss. So am pleased to get away with another win and give the players more confidence
continually getting linked with michalik from bolton who we had on loan last season, and darren kenton from leicester. Another name popping up in a possible swap deal involving frazer richardson is john harley to fill our full back void..
onwards and upwards! we are leeds!

the one game i saw him play last season, against luton, i liked the runs he made and he got to the byline and his pace worried defenders.
from that time on he barely got more than 10 mins on the pitch and id suggest against going for him at this stage
however get michalik in, hes quality

Very good result. Got a little shaky midway through the second half but we are finishing games really strongly this season as the last week has proven.

We'd be top of the league without the penalty, the only downer on a great day in front of a good crowd of 24,036.

I found this open letter from Ken Bates to the fans to be quite interesting. He is rather open about a number of things including player transfers and other potential investors.

How much did Bates pay for the club? You would be well p1ssed off if he made a profit, especially after stiffing all your creditors and putting Leeds in the position they now are in.

In fact if he does make money from the sale of the club, and I was a creditor I'd be knocking on Bates door asking for my money back.

Interesting piece although it does seem that he's trying to blame everyone but himself for Leeds predicament. Can't see the point in including Simon Morris' proposals, I only scanned them but they looked pretty good to me.

And while the man is scum personified I did laugh at his comment about taking shirts off. Only Ken Bates.

morris was really at pains to say that it was about for the love of the club, rather than the development with the land..the proposal kind of went against everything he stated..like bates said..if it were false morris could/would sue...which he aint doing

On the Bates issue, I would prefer that if he was going to sell the club, it would be at the end of the season rather than now. A new owner would possibly want to get rid of Wise, which would be a disaster because it would halt the clubs early season momentum.
