I think Leigh Colbert was a champion player and i think he left Geelong because they didn't respect him when he was captian.

I think injuries have cost him dearly and he'll never be as good as he was, but he will still be a quality player. I'd like to have him at the Dogs

So true. Its just unfortunate that he's received alot of undeserved heat from GFC supporters for leaving (although the feelings are understandable, he was our captain, he was Geelong).

Deep down GFC supporters know how good Leigh was around the club, thats the only reason for the residual anger.

Footy is a passionate game, unfortunately some people can't see the truth behind that passion.

I hope Leigh does explain why he left, although no matter what he says he will forever be cast as the villian, unfortunately.

We all know that he's not one of the out and out stars of the comp, but when he gets some games under his belt, he will be a useful player for us. His attitude is great and he's popular at the club. He deserves some support.

I couldn't care less what you think my motives are, but an extremely highly paid footballer's career is in the balance after yet another poor performance, if that isn't deserving of a thread, then nothing is.

If you think a 1 kick performance doesn't deserve criticism then i suggest you open the other eye.

And finally my opinion on Colbert.

Leigh has obviously struggled to maintain full fitness for the Roos since the knee injury, but he has been far from the worst player at the club since he joined. In fact I thought that last year, while not the most spectacular player at the club that Leigh was fairly solid playing in a variety of positions.

As many have mentioned a huge part of his game is the 1%'ers and his attack on the ball, backing into packs and generally putting his body on the line has been second only to Archer in my opinion. Sometimes I wonder if he shouldn't be told to ease up a bit to protect his body a bit more but I think that is the way he is.

He is a great clubman and has contributed much to the club off the field. He has twice offered to take a cut in salary to help out the club and I believe last year repaid money to the club that he believed he had not earned. He is still young and if he can get over his injuries will be a huge asset to the club.

I am sure he is on a decent dollar at the club, and while that may have to be looked at, I have never been disappointed that Leigh Colbert was in the 22 at North Melbourne. Career over, I doubt it, career not reaching it's previous heights quite possible, but I am prepared to wait a little longer before passing final judgement.

Colbert had a bad game on Saturday. I would even go so far as to say that injuries have prevented him from being anything like the player North fans hoped we were getting when he was signed.

But for Geelong fans to say they are over him, or he wasn't booed on Saturday night, what a crock that is. On at least 6 occasions, at least half of the Geelong fans at Colonial yelled their disapproval. It was pathetic.

Maybe now that he has played a bad game against the cats, these fans might be able to let it go?

it is good to know that despite what most of the other posters here say about you, the one thing that is not true is the rumour about your lack of sanity.

Maturity, now that is something totally different. If you feel the need to write in BIG BAD COLOURFUL letters it can be for one of two reasons:-

(a) You are under the age of 10 years so then it is understandable: or

(b) Whatever you are doing in your private time is making you go blind in which case it is understandable as well but may require a trip to the confessional.
