Ok let's assume wallace is gone by round 11, would Leigh fit the bill?? Still relatively young-ish (almost) & no question about his credentials or experience.

I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Just what we needed: "Ok let's assume wallace is gone by round 11..." the day before our first match of the year.

I couldn't think of a better topic.

only on the richmond board would you find such rubbish threads 1 day before our biggest H&A game in years.

Geez, can't believe the response here. Relax guys, just after an opinion that's all. I hope wallace stays another 5 years if we do well this year. If however we're 3-8 after halfway, what would the opinions be then? Just asking if people thought matthews would be welcome or not.

The fact that it's round 1 tomorrow is really irrelevant. It doesn't stop discussion does it?

Of course he'd be welcome. We'd be stupid not to have a look at him if that was the case.. thats just general knowledge.

The end.

Forget about Matthews, if Wallace isn't re-signed, I reckon it's obvious who your next coach wil be. This is of course complete, unfounded speculation, but it's funny how Kevin Sheedy has appeared at the right time isn't it? He's gone and got Richmond one of the best players of the modern era all in the name of giving a bloke a "second chance". Now if Wallace were to stumble this year, Richmond would have a good, possibly better list next year, they might want a former legend of the club to take over the coaching position. He's a cunning old bugger Sheeds and call me cynical, but I don't think he spent the last 6 months of his life purely to assist Cousins' rehab. Don't be surprised if he gets his foot in the door as caretaker coach at the end of the season.

Nah no way mate, give Cambo the gig!

but that won't happen this year, Wallace will guide us to the finals

No, **** no. We get a young up and coming coach with fresh ideas, an emphasis on youth development and one that rates our list where it should be. Damien Hardwick gets my vote.
