So you're saying the WAFL is almost where he belongs. :)

Cale had a very good championships, and showed a lot in his first ten games for Melbourne.

Clark is not inside enough and struggling to see where he impacts at AFL level.

He has been as good as he is now as a 15 year old.

He is hopeless overhead mark, and lacks hunger at the footy at times.

Is extremely smart and a very good leader, so has some traits that appeal.

46.Matthew Kennedy - NSW (187.0 cm, 84.0 kg - Midfielder)
47.Sam Skinner - VC (197.0 cm, 96.0 kg - Key Forward)
48.Charles Curnow - VC (191.0 cm, 95.0 kg - Key forward)
49.Ryan Burton - SA (191.0 cm, 83.0 kg - Key forward)
50.Sam Weideman - VM (196.0 cm, 91.0 kg - Key Forward)

These guys all did not play in the championships and hence belong somewhere higher, I am just not 100% sure where to rank them.

Skinner played at least one championship game, maybe even two
because he didn't get injured in the game that I saw

I did not get to see those games because they were either not in Perth of on TV.
That is fair enough, he was in them though

I was disappointed by his injury, went to watch him live a few times & he is incredibly vocal out on the field and was aggressive without been reckless
tracked him closely since he spent some time training with the Bulldogs earlier in the year

I will edit my statement to add that I did not see them at the championships.

I've updated post 2 with my new rankings as of today. I may tinker a little with the list before draft night.

Hey Mr lemming,
Good work!
Just wondering if you could tell me more about Marcus Adams as he is a WAFL lad and you may have seen a lot of him.
Cheers
Sometimes players take a little time to develop and Adams is one of these players. Had a great finals game and athletically has some elite AFL speed, leap and his kicking is of a high level. I think the transition to defence has been great for him this year. Is very solid overhead and he could fill that Gibson/Stratton styled defensive player, has the speed and agility to go with the smaller players and height to handle some of the taller forwards.

Just really needs to get a little more aggressive from the backline, just needs to attack his man and contest a little harder. Still looked a class above at WAFL level. With the modern game seeming to be based on zones, his football IQ is high and he reads the play nicely, so it could suit his style.

Mature body and can and will help a side instantly if they require him to protect some kids or just be that 16-22 ranked player in your team at the moment.

I like the idea of the Lions getting two KPP in the Top 10. Hopefully Schache and Hipwood become 10+ year spine players for us.

I think Hipwood looks great in the backline, my thoughts on his kicking change from a great kick to OMG what was he thinking.
Schache on the other hand is one of the best set shots I've seen at jnr level for years.

There are reports Weideman's legs not great either, yet he's at 10?

I've not heard the same level of concern with regards to their injuries.

Secondly, I also prefer Weideman as a forward option than Burton if you want to compare those two players.

Feel free to rate Burton and we can talk about this in a lot more detail after draft night or in 6 years time when he is either dominating and having egg on my face or maybe his injury concerns are a reality.

That's great! Thanks for the info!
I'm thinking from what you said that he is not a Brian Lake style of player with great reading of the flight and intercept capabilities? Or is he someone that could develop into this?

He does not remind me of Lake to be honest, I would look to a more Gibson/Stratton styled player for the Hawks.

Fair enough, you can probably tell I'm a fan.
Of the 3 'almost' KPP in Curnow, Francis and Burton, I feel he has the greatest scope to play a midfield role and also the best FWD of that group. Of course it all depends on whether his leg holds together.
From a Carlton perspective, it's not outside the realms of possibility that we end up with all three which would be outstanding IMO.
