When he comes back... he expects Round 5

I'm personally stoked. No more cringing when he gets the ball!

Thoughts?

Also I'd hope he plays 16 rounds to get to 250 Games for the champ :thumbsu:

Have you heard that that's how he is gonna be used? I think it is a very good idea to use him forward. I can remember a few times when he has been thrown forward and looked quite dangerous.

I reckon with MOL and Baz taking the best 2 defenders, if you put Leo in the goal square on the 3rd or 4th best defender he could cause havoc. We have seen how good his body work is on the big men when he plays down back and how strong he really is (despite his lack of height). And he still has a bit of pace that will be more useful running on the lead than trying to gain on forwards doing the same thing. I doubt Roosy will do this though, and would rather keep him down back. But anyway, here's hoping!

After seeing our defence today we need Leo Barry back in the side.

its his final year, and this side isn't gonna get much better with or without him in defence... and he wasn't exactly great in 2008 either

so i would rather throw one of the young birds out of the nest and hope they fly.... we either do this in 2009 or 2010, no point in delaying the inevitable

Maybe i heard wrong.

During half time?

I wouldn't mind seeing him play up foward can certainly take a mark. Maybe he can swing between fwd and back.

Could be quite a potent forward line with O'Keefe, Hall and Mickey O. Similiar size to Nick Davis so perhaps he could play that role.

Can't you lot remember him as a half-forward? He was pretty ordinary.

Exactly. Especially kicking for goal.

Look, the bloke loves to run the ball, it's one thing no one has been able to change.
The problem is that as last line of defence at fullback, his mistakes are going to hurt more than most others.
If and when he's fit to return to seniors, we're likely to have other players settled in the positions he's used to playing, so (and I've said this before) why not play him off a half-back flank, give him a bit of freedom to run but move him away from the crucial fullback spot.

Agreed, he seems to be the 'original' half-back flanker for us, and yet is a full-back. LRT seems a much more natural full-back to me - at least in my Footy '05 game :p - or even Richards, or White.

I'd have to disagree there's enough firepower up forward he would just get in the way. I like him playing as the third tall defender thus taking on easier opponents and being able to come in as the third man up to spoil the key forwards eg buddy.
plus someone has to organize jesse white and mike pyke down back currently they have no idea how to play the game.

Get Reg Grundy down back and keep him there. White up forward

Agreed. I do still reckon Leo would be a solid forward should we need it but i reckon he will struggle quite a bit to hold his spot in the team. Unfortunate for such a great player and servant of the club who has given so much to the Swans (such as the 05 flag...)

I'd rather he miss goals,

then give away goals.

Can't you lot remember him as a half-forward? He was pretty ordinary.

Dead right he was ordinary. Going to the back made his career for him. Swans were desperate enough to try him as a replacement for Dunkley. The rest, as they say, is history.
