The preseason has finished and we have done well. One game without the majority of the first start midfield, one without the majority of the first start defense and one without the bulk of the first start forward line.

Despite this we have won 2 out of 4 games and not been blown away in the others.

Bring on round 1.

Yep, been pretty happy with our pre season form so far and I can't see us losing to Carlton in round 1. If we can kick it off with a 15 goal demolition of the bloos, the season looks good. :D

Carlton = foreign legion.

We owe them a massive payback for round 1, 2001.

I spent most of 2001 (and a big part of 2002) wondering what the season might have been if we had have held that 5 goal lead in that game.

I didn't. I looked at the draw and looked at the list (no Holland , Sinclair & Clement and Clem Micheal recovering from a knee) and said to my E-girls supporting mate that we would be 0-6 and the only reason we would beat Geelong in round 7 is that they would have won a few and drop one they were expected to win. As it turned out Geelong started nearly as badly as us and we ended up 0-16.

Surely we will beat Carlton. Someone post something new and interesting! I'm getting bored here!

Yo Sera ! We should beat Caarrlton.
It is a bit dull cause we're "cruisin". We need a big flogging to get everyone posting. ;)

How's Bradley?

Okay, let's talk about Ryley Dunn. He certainly hasn't set the world alight in any of the games so far. He's got great hands when he gets it, but is he getting it enough? What's fair when it comes to expectations of the new boys? What should we be looking for?

All the Dockers squad are tucked up in their own bed by 9.00 every evening, only with the cuddley presence of a Grinder doll and a glass of milk to soothe them into a good nights sleep. It is well known that Mr Simmonds has chucked his Grinder doll and is happy to play with his snake.

Be patient little grasshopper.

I think we sometimes expect too much from our first year players.

Give Dunn & co a year in the WAFL getting used to playing against men and if they excell and then a senior call up in their first season, that is a bonus.

Crossed fingers, we will be able to let the young crop mature at the WAFL level and cover the injuries (few!!!) with experienced players.

I saw Ryley Dunn for the first time on Saturday and thought he did alright for a 17/18 yr old kid. OK he wasn't BOG but he wasn't scared to get in and under the pack. Most kids at that age are like seagulls scouting the pack looking for easy pickings. He's a good size, not skinny like most new recruits.
Feel free to disagree.
