You can start trading now if you like, but the salaries aren't done yet, and are at least a couple of days away. The two official weeks will start as soon as the salaries are posted, then you'll have until 10 days before the draft to work out your contracts

Suggestion only.

IF the contract system is going to be introduced....perhaps the off season could be run as follows (I'm assuming that Russian will decide the salaries)

1. Player salaries are released by Russian.

2. All clubs announce delistings and also announce their contract lengths for the remainder of their current list. Clubs may increase or decrease their contract lengths from the standard two years with the resultant increase or decrease in contract amounts (already set by Russian). (perhaps a minimum number of delisting could be set.).

3. Trading/Bidding period (all bids and trades done in this period). All those players that have been offered one year contracts by their clubs (for this off-season only) may be bid for by all clubs, as well as all delisted players (now free agents). If there is a bidding war, then the bidding clubs may organise a trade. Otherwise current clubs have last bid rights and only need to match bids from other clubs.

Alternatively perhaps bidding could take place on all players for this first year and contract amounts would be determined by market prices. As above, current clubs would only have to match bids on their players to keep them, not top them. Under this scenario there would be no need to use PSD picks on successsfully bid for players.

4. Final Delistings (no player traded or poached during the Trading/Bidding period can be delisted)

5. National Draft (as normal - all delisted players eligible. Minimum three selections.

6. Pre-Season draft - to top up lists (if needed). Clubs that made successful offers to uncontracted players to take those players with first pre-season draft pick (in order of contract size), in the same way clubs make PSD commitments to out of contract players. This encourages clubs to trade and limits unrealistic bidding. Otherwise any remaining free agents can be drafted by a club with space on their list.

Awesome. Whichever way we go, i think the sooner we can start trading, the more interest we are going to generate here. Particulary for the newer managers and with the 'heat' of trade week on.
