Certainly did notice that mitch.Agree with that. Funny they mentioned Brendan McCartney was voted assistant coach of the year last year. How anyone would know who the best assistant is is anyones guess. On a positive note I'm tipping I'm not the first person to mention this but notice the three coaches to sign with clubs this week all spent time at Richmond as either a player or assistant.
Massive no to Ayres.
As for Eade, someone remind me what he actually achieved as coach please?

Way too much man love for some senior assistant to Dimma, if anything he should have had this day one not three years in.
I am yet to be convinced that we need this role at RFC and I would hope that it's Dimma'a idea not something he has just accepted or been told to get used to? Why add some pressure to the coaching staff that is not needed? He gets enough of that from us mob
as for Eade or Ayers.............![]()

Would love Leon Cameron at our club. I think that he is a Tiger at heart and not a Bulldog.
Perhaps we let the current coaching staff have a decent crack at it first, Bo? Dogs couldn't wait to get rid of Eade and clubs aren't knocking down his door.if we were to agree that managing a side that consistently made FINALS was at the very least one acceptable KPI to recognise a successful coach then rocket eade would be 800% better than anyone that has held the reigns at tigerland in the last 15 years...our coaching group hasnt got enough runs on the board to moubnt a case they dont need any help

We surrounded an "inexperienced" Frawley with gun assistants and that didnt help much. Let Hardwick sink or swim in his 3rd year of a 3 year contract.
Malthouse will sit out next year and be available in 2013. If Hardwick fails, Malthouse should be our only target.
would love to think you're right prowler but when we have a bloke that currently sits with a win/loss of 30% id suggest there may be a need for some support to make further inroads. there were too many examples in season 2011 that signalled INEXPERIENCE...as in gifting sides 5 goals starts, finding a mid season hole we couldn't clamber out of, losing to sides well below those that we had earlier beaten...and so on. Through the course of the season there are a zillin decisions that need to be made that may or may not shape results, adding an expereinced head to the group might just go some way to improving that embarrasing win/loss record
I hear where you are coming from but our list this year wouldn't have won too many more even if Jesus was sitting alongside Dimma.
Chris Scott walked into a star studded list at Geelong and has them in a prelim. Basing the need for experience looking over a coaches shoulder on win/loss rather than list management is flawed IMO???

What I also find funny is that McCartney started his AFL coaching life as an assistant to the Giesch along with Ross Lyon. Who would have thought! Unleash the Giesch!
