it shouldnt be just about making finals being the benchmark for success or not, it should be about continious improvement and for the last few seasons it hasnt been apparent, each year we fall down at the same time of the year, and we can never seem to get ourselves out of a slump.

If we dont improve on last years inconsistency towards the seasons end and if we fall down at the same spot something needs to be looked at.

I like ND, but Id also like to win a flag!

Exactly what I said to my mates after the game, after they said the "after one game?!" thing. It's nothing new with daniher, I don't even have dreams of us winning a premiership, that's how unlikely it is. Sure we have a good list, but they're noncommital and don't know what to do with the ball. Surely not all of them are that stupid? Dutchy, I'll accept, but there were guys on friday who usually know exactly what they were doing, and had no idea. I'm not sure it's all Daniher's fault, but he's gotta take part of the fall. He's gotta take most of it for the fact that we seemingly have no other game plan than handball as many times as we can, and try and put our mates in as much **** as we can before we get caught holding the ball.

I would've liked a change at the end of last season, it's been clear for a couple of years the club needs a new direction and that has nothing to do with a round 1 loss this year.

It is quite conceivable we will have another good run mid year and make the finals again, but short of a premiership this year I would like to see a change of coach.

It's funny, I seem to remember saying almost the same thing after round 1 last year...

It's really interesting I was watching a press conference from the demons hotter than hell video 1998 Danihers 1st year of coaching. Now my major problem with Daniher is that he doesn't take enough risks and try different things. Maybe not so much today but what bout in 2000,2002 pretty much every year when Melbourne was against the ropes chuck Neita further up the ground.

Anyway in this video I think he was talking bout Melbourne V Essendon r22 for us to secure a top4 finish he chuck Garry Lyon into the middle and he made a match winning smother and clearance. In the interview Neale is quoted as saying 'when yoru under pressure you look to your champions and try different things". Alot has changed his mindset.

We played Richmond in R22, 1998. Who could ever forget the comic scenes of Richmond fans having their finals dreams shattered as we ran riot and won by about 500 points.

Then we went on and smacked the reigning and eventual premiers Adelaide and then smacked St. Kilda in the wet.
