I was pretty emotional the day pyke was appointed.

I was at the Adelaide united game at Adelaide Oval that day too, and the whole event was so plastic.

Just reinforced my love for the AFC. But the appointment of Pyke just felt wrong. It was nothing against him, but that day was the end of an era that was cruelly and horrifically shutdown. I think Phil will have almost an eternal leader position at the club.

The fact Pyke has had one presser since the appointment hasn't helped him claim authority on the job. Needed a presser post tradeweek.

I heard some not very flattering stories about Phil from his teaching days while he was playing for the bears or shortly after. From a student of his PE class and a fellow teacher. Not sure if I should share? May be inappropriate.
I am sure that every person in the world has some stories about them that are not flattering. Bringing them up after they have tragically passed is in poor taste at best.
While he was at our club he had a huge positive impact on basically everyone that met him, guided by him or heard him speak, whether they were players, staff or supporters.
Phil will be greatly missed by all. FWIW I think we move on when pre season starts, but we shall never forget

Adolf Hitler? Joe Stalin? It depends what the dead have done.
As far as an ordinary bloke like Phil W, he like the rest of us was a work in progress. The final result was an inspiration to many.

People move on in time. Myself, I feel that I moved on from Walsh after the first final against the dogs. It just felt like a culmination to me, really emotional but also we overcame the adversity of the game to succeed.

I'm sure our most die-hard supporters will hold on longer than others, but I'm also sure that come a fantastic, coach driven win, the last few that struggle with the loss of Walsh will be able to let it go

Phil Walsh lives on in my signature, this club, and within the hearts of all Crows supporters. I believe that we can move on, whilst still treasuring his memory and legacy.

Team First, Elite Standards, Masterpieces ... these will be permanently etched into the AFC culture.

I really thought this was going to be about farting at the football when I read the title.

Everyone grieves differently and most know when the time is right, for a lot of people it may be sometime next season and that's fine.

You know it sucks. I always go back to Sun Flowers. He was an odd cat in the way he presented himself. That wry smile....when explaining things. I felt we were going in the right direction, that he would be the one to bring together our players....bring in their strengths.

Like others have said....such a big influence in such a short time.

Jenny, I don't think you should worry about when. It will happen when it happens. I think it is nice that so many have held onto their Phil avatars. Shows a respect that is to be admired.

I held on to my avatar for Phil for a while. I changed some time after Pyke was appointed because I thought it might help me in moving on. It didn't work...
Maybe when we start to get a bit of Pykey talking about his footy filosophies we can move on a bit, its a bit like waiting for the kettle to boil this time of year.

I think Phils death hit everyone on many levels Jenny. Infact it really shocked the whole nation, including alot of NRL people who didnt even know who he was.
He was murdered. He was murdered by his son. He was only just starting out on his journey, and one that offered so much. The football community was really starting to be engrossed by him. Life cut short.
Its disturbing and so sad on so many levels.

This is what does it for me. The fact it was so sudden, so unexpected and so extremely brutal. Everything about the situation is depressing before you even get to the football component.

Personally, I think everyone should deal with it in their own way. My avatar in his honor was up until we played Port or thereabouts. I swapped out my signature line after the Grand Final.

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer---do what feels right.

Still got the Lions game on my Foxtel hardrive. Have never watched it, was a poor game. Not really a sentimental person, but think at a subliminal level just can't seem to press the yellow delete button.
The worst thing about that game was that it seemed like the start of something. Those were the games we usually lost, but finally we'd toughed out a win when we usually wouldn't have. It was the game where we turned a corner. It was the game that made me think "This guy is the right guy for us. He'll take us places."

In a few years once our dynasty will start to begin, Tex will be standing up in the last week of September accepting the Trophy whilst giving credit to Walsh, Phil started it all for us, Pyke will finish it.
Tex just looks the type who should hold the cup above his head. He looks a leader of men. No more so than the pic of him holding the little crying girl's hand, his steely eye saying "I'm meant to be here, bring it on" prior to rnd 1 2015

I think Phil saw this in him and made the right call. When Tex holds up the cup (please let it happen) Phil will be in all our memories

This season will never be forgotten. I am over the sadness now but still when you sit there and think what happened it still shocks me.. its something that should never have happened and it is still shock and hard to believe.. its more anger than sadness now at why this had to happen.
I have moved on... I want to win and do well and my focus is on 2016 and once again dealing with the crap the AFL has handed us (the hardest fixture out of all the clubs) and the fact that we lost our best player.

And he went into the presser and stated that it wasn't good enough and that changes were going to be made. Previous coaches would have backed the same group in again because they'd fallen over the line.
