Hard to keep homesick boys that want to be close to MuMMY!!

ehhhh I just think we screwed up with Jacobs. He was 4th in line behind household names in Hampson and Warnock.

Been a rookie pick I doubt he was afforded the same luxuries as the two named above and Adelaide were offering more money and gametime.

He wanted to go home. Didn't matter what we offered.

Good kick who was injured and unfit due to a broken foot. More athletic and powerful than Roughead who didn't look quicker than Rowe. Deceptive due to his size.

We'd still take Daniher who is a poor kick for goal.

For a big game against strong opposition you would always take a Taylor Walker or Tom Hawkins over the likes of Roughead.

They were also offering more game time which equals more money long term as well though. More gametime = more opportunities to develop = bigger contracts

I just think we managed him poorly due to his humble beginnings.

Casboult is a perfect example of why Carlton is and has been a mediocre team for so many years. We recruited another player who cannot kick. How does a player get through years of junior footy the so called rigorous Under 18 system with such an appalling kicking style? How do recruiters ignore his kicking? We have Kreuzer to come back and we cannot carry three big men. None of these players have succeeded in the forward line despite many attempts. Before everyone goes on about Casboult's marking what is his biggest return of goals? We have to make a hard call at some stage with this list and hanging onto players who after 4 years still cannot kick, and is at best an average player.
Notice this shit-stirrer is like a Lancaster Bomber, dropping its shower of turds and leaving. Debating skills of a duck.

Mick is just repeating Ratten's mistakes if he tries that.

It will be as successful as playing Hampson up for......well playing Hampson anywhere really.

I dunno so much.

Ratten didn't have a fit Waite very often and Hendo was down back with Levi too raw for the seniors. By way of lack of adequate support, when Krueze and Hampson for that matter played forward they were usually expected to be the go to tall. Now we have Hendo (who we know can do the job when fully fit and an improving Levi, along with Waite who while out of form is at least getting on the park more often).

So a few assumptions to be had but indulge me and I'll make it work for you. As etsal and the general have indicated we could see Hendo, Levi and Krueze as our tall forwards with 206 rucking.

Assumption 1: Waite is gone (either to the back line or retired)
Assumption 2: Krueze is 100% fit (agree with etsal, get the weight down to improve mobility/agility), no coming in off limited pre seasons.
Assumption 3: Hendo is fit.
Assumption 4: Levi brings consistency to his game and becomes that reliable mark/2 goals a game player.

The main issue with Krueze forward would be the expectation and or reliance on him to be a focal point (this will never work). However with him fit and Hendo and Levi down there he's essentially the third tall but still requiring someone half decent to man him. Levi and Hendo in form with Krueze hanging around will stretch any back line (literally) plus it will also allow Levi to stay in the forward half all game providing more opportunity than currently.

Certainly think it's workable.

I think it's Waite remaining in the forward line and providing a still reasonable marking target on the wings and up forward (something that Warnock still does not have in his game).

Need to look elsewhere for decent back line players.

So basically Levi graduates from the Leigh Brown role and fills in Waite's role instead?

While Kreuzer as a undersized ruck becomes the new Leigh Brown?

It sounds good on paper to me at least.

I would be interested in Moody's assessment of Casboults game and if he thinks he is worth persisting with.

I did point out to Moods that Casboult does many other things which can easily go unnoticed after the Adelaide game.

Yes. Levi certainly has the potential to be a Cloke or a Hawkins with his size, tank and marking ability. Belief/self confidence will aid his kicking accuracy.

Of course nobody stays confident forever so we will most likely be subjected to his inconsistency in this area for the rest of his career ala Cloke but certainly worth persisting with.

If Krueze could grab a goal a game as the third tall forward and provide that on ball aggression he's so good at I'd be more than happy.

He is guaranteed games and a decent salary as well with Waite close to retirement.
If Waite was to retire at the end of the year, why would we be interested in trading out our other KPF option unless we had a couple of KPF's coming in at the end of the year that we dont know about.

The club has put a fair amount of work into Levi, especially over the last couple of years, and he has admitted loving the club before now. If he keeps going on the way he has been so far this year, he will definitely be first 22 material come the end of the year.

Personally, I think that because of the change of president and the CEO next week, all contract finalisations are now on hold until we have new bums warming the seats.

His 4 goals on the weekend after some towering marks says hi...

And just for the sake of argument... his 41.14 in his TAC year says that he wasnt that shabby at kicking for goal back then.

How about we just trade Warnock instead and have the Kruezer/Cas combo going at it hammer and tongs?

Then we can grab a El Cheapo ruck man.
We have one dont we? Cam Wood...

I would actually liken him to a B17... a Lancaster was actually quite accurate.
