Hawthorn vs Collingwood Rd 13

I'll give you +15pts in DT score or +6 touches.

A friendly wager?

pm me

I'll give you +70pts in DT or +18 touches

For X. Ellis - the man the HAWKERS deemed better than Pendles at the 2005 draft.

Jordan Lewis... wasn't he drafted at the same time as we took Chris Egan? If so, i think the Hawks have comfortably won that one. But i think our potential superstar in Pendlebury is about 2 years younger and thus less experienced. Not a reasonable matchup for Lewis. Even though, in the long run, i'm sure most would agree that Pendlebury will become the better player. Maybe a fairer bet would be Heath Shaw v's Jordan Lewis. Closer matchup.

a simple yes or no would suffice

i understand pendles is a year behind thats why Lewis has been handicapped.

dont you boys start with this cheap touches crap because heath shaw is the master. Lewis plays in the middle and works hard both up and down the ground for his.

What's Heath Shaw got to do with it?

Haha!!

Pendlebury .......................................................................................................... & Daylight 2nd :D

Heath Shaw at least runs the ball out of 50 and damages with his accurate upfield passes. Not so much of the chipping sideways in the back half that we see from some.

He is also as hard as nails and is hardly ever beaten in a contest, gets plent of contested footy and is #2 in our team for contested marks (would be #1 at Hawks).

Hawks are the masters of collecting cheap kicks across their half back lines.
King of the floods the are.
Danny Jacobs 22 marks is testament to this.

Possessions are meaningless when it comes to Hawthorn players, they should be halved because most of them count for nothing.

Yet when we beat West Coast, they rack up the most disposals in a losing side in AFL history?

Strange the way things stack up, eh?

... buy Tarkyn Lockyer still manages to rack up 19 marks against the same opponent last week.

Nice.

I don't think Hawthorn are a bad side to watch personally. I think Lockyer's marks were mostly around the midfield. It was probably the most genuine 15+ mark game in a while and was due to hard running and not cheap kicks. Only about 5 of them would be from kick ins or backwards kicks.

Yeah but you know, we won.
Whilst Jacobs marks where taken in a pathetic attempt to do something. What it was i'm not sure. Such a pathetic game to watch.
Two goals in the first three quarters means that your defenders were having a great time chipping the ball across the back line instead of actually progressing up the ground.

Right, that was one game - I doubt you've watched another game that the Hawks have played this season.

Sure, we over-used the ball terribly that night - but if you exclude that match, we've averaged less disposals per match than most other teams - including Collingwood.

Well i watched the saints game as well, probably even worse than the Lions game.
No doubt the Hawks are playing good footy, but they do love to chip it around and stats don't count as much when it comes to the Hawks.

Pies average 22 less disposals a game than the Hawks, but we average three more scoring shots, much more direct footy.

3 more scoring shots? Damning evidence that.......

heath shaw is a cheap kick merchant, he has great ability no doubt. but just watch him in the back half, as soon as he kicks it he'll run backwards or sideways into space to get another cheapie. this was clearly evident in the lions game.

anyway, i havent heard a peep so you cant be too confident of your boy pendles.

I NO YOU DIDN'T!!!!! Heath Shaw is one of our driving forces. He wins his one on ones and then drives us FORWARD and hits a leading team-mate on the chest. I find it moronic that you attach a ridiculous label to a player who doesn't fit the profile the irony being that is exactly how the Hawks play it, with the back half full of 'help' players and then having to spin it wide because all of your players are in the back half.

HAWTHORN = A WATER POLO TEAM.

It's the same way the Crows play the game and there's nothing wrong with that but its an ugly method. It's always nice to know who the fools are on bigfooty, thanks for heads up you certainly qualify.
