Liam Anthony looks like he will be out for 6 weeks. He may not return to the seniors straight after that (esp given Laidley's history)

Should i trade him out now for one of the cash cow rookie mids (otten, robinson, dangerfield) or keep him and wait for him to play and trade him out late in the season?

Wait until Beams plays 2 games and then trade him in then.

You would be stupid to wait for Beams, he will be handy downgrade option later.

Either trade next week for Robinson, or wait 6 weeks. No inbetween.

6 wks may be abit too long considering you need to make some early dosh to have premiums earlier.

most lineups should only need to use 9 trades for premium upgrades.

bar LTI's, its reasonable to use a trade for this circumstance considering neally everyone is on the same boat with Anthony/Raines.

6 weeks is a bit too long IMO.

Already have Rich, Otten and Beams.

Only reasonable thing for me to do is get Robinson.

What if you have Beams, Robinson and Anthony and no money in the bank?. Any other 94K mid rookie worth trading Anthony too?.

I think the answer is probably no at this stage!. The rest of my rookies in every position are earning money (besides Beams who will play this week I reckon) - so I'll just leave Anthony.

1) If you have Robinson and an extra 40000 upgrade to Otten.
2) If no cash and no Robbo then it's a no-brainer
3) If Robbo and no cash, good luck. Maybe Beams, who knows???

If he is the only bloke that you copped a zero off this week, or have someone like Beams who is expected to play. Why waste the trade when you have more than enough players to downgrade already? There is no way, last year you downgraded every one of your sub-$150k players.

That's throwing away trades. You'll be whinging come Round 20 when Ablett and Cox both break a leg.

Mind you I did sideaway trade SDT out last year and finished 11th.

That's true actually. I think Zaharakis from Ess will play this week after a stunning reserves game...he looms as a possible 94K target.

Cox , Egan and Croad all had/ have damaged bones in their feet and they take a hell of a time to heal .It would be a risk keeping Anthony .Miracles do happen but is it worth the risk ?

Trading in Robinson looks quite risky at this stage....

Players to return:
Grigg: automatic inclusion?
Walker: "will be considered"
Stevens: automatic inclusion
Carrazzo: automatic inclusion

Joseph and Gartlett will be the first out, but that leaves 2 more likely best 22 players to come back in. The fringe players would be Hadley, Wiggins, Russell?, Chris Johnson, Robinson.
IMO: Grigg for Gartlett, Stevens for Joseph, Walker/Carrazzo displace Chris Johnson?. I think Robinson adds good defensive pressure to the forward line but it looks tight for a place unless some injuries pop up.

LOL, reminds me of the line from Chopper

Theres no cash here, here there's no cash, alright...cash no...Robbo" "No Cash!"

No point wasting a trade on a bench player.

If you have beams and anthony like i do you must look at your other emrgs you have if both your def rucks and fowds play you have other options to trade for money and if he does come back in 6 weeks you then have another chance to upgrade to a prem then. you dont want to do it all at once.
pace yourself its a marathon not a sprint

seems to be a lot of conflicting responses. not making my decision any easier. guess that is the fun of SC

at the moment im leaning towards trading him. I have Beams and expect him to play. also, all my mids are playing. If i trade it will be next week and NOT for Robinson

Amen! Couldnt agree more...

he is on my bench, will wait until after round two is done and then see whos bubble is the biggest..

Seems like a smart approach to me and I am thinking of doing the same.

My only concern is that it means that I will be going into the next round without an emergency (as Davenport is my other midfield reserve). If the bloody website had not crashed when teams were announced, I would not have been in this situation but I guess I am not alone there:thumbsd:

It's a real dilemma trying to work out if I should trade Raines and Anthony or if I should try to sit tight and save my trades until later in the season.

The advantage of trading now is that there is a good opportunity to pick up some good cash cows before their values increase. This will help me to upgrade sooner and give me some backup on the bench.

The disadvantage is doing a sideways trade and knowing that I will probably want them back when they return. I will also probably regret it if I am running out of trades later in the season.

I'm leaning towards trading Raines this week and Anthony next week...
