Just following RTB's 'We won't be walked over' philosophy by proposing shit trades for contracted players.

It works both ways though we massively front loaded his contract so he has been paid the majority already and is owed little over the last two years so for him to request a trade we would want to get decent compensation

Interest in Ryan is in part as a mentor to Collard. So he won’t be part of a trade.
I would hope not. As much as I liked Collard in his drat year, a flakey undersized 20 year old is not what we should be trading in for someone like Liam. This is an opportunity to land a developed player in and age group and position of need, which is what we currently need to start winning games with our list full of kids.
I'm under no illusion that Ryan alone would be a straight swap for the likes of a Windhanger or a Marshall, or that either would entertain a move west, but those are the sorts of players we need to be targeting if Liam is being heavily courted while still under contract. Collard would not move the needle an inch next year and would in fact, make us worse than if we made Liam play out his contract next year.
Dont want Collard or a f2 tbh.
Has to be players in positions we dont have depth in or first round picks only, can be pick upgrades

A late first round pick to go from 12 to 7 isnt a big stretch, but id top it up with an extra f3 pick if required
So saints committed to Ryan, he put his reputation on the line…in contract….and saints fans think it will be third rounder.

A 30 year old in 2026 small forward don't go for much these days
Of all the players we are linked to he is the least priority.
Much rather he stays at the eagles

I love how fluid and controversial a players age becomes around trade time. You'd think a date would settle the matter, but alas, it's still up for debate

Seems like there is interest in Flanders from the GC as well, so something involving our first pick, WC Hawthorn pick and some other bits and pieces for Ryan and Flanders to the saints does feel close.
Not sure how it all plays out but assume WC gets the saints pick, GC gets the hawthorn pick and other bits move around.
I’m sure a bunch of posters from all sides will say some versions of “you’re dreaming” but it feels like a relatively realistic type of deal.

St Kilda must have some idea of a trade in mind.
I would understand offering pick 25 as a starting point if they had it, but they don't. Pick 7 outright would get SOS fired, and pick 50 or whatever their next pick will bend up being can GTFO.
They did some trades in 2019 turning 6 into 12 and 18, then 12 and 18 into Howard, Ryder, 10, then 10 and Acres into Hill. Can see something like that working. 7 for Ryan + 12 doesn't look like much of an incentive for WC, but with Allen and TDK 12 becomes 14 and with whatever bids come in 14 could be 15, 16, 17... and depending on how early the bids are 7 could be 7 or it could be pushed back just as much.
