lids is better than judd and ablett just not consistent and thats not just being bias. Hes got everything, amazing speed, quality kick, great marker, he could proberbly be a good full back if need be :D if he plays games like this more he will win a brownlow soon... just need to help him out with a tag as much as possible.

forgot to say he was in ruck for a few contests.
Correct me if im wrong but i think he may have got an effective hitout, possibly agaisnt Snadilands:eek: FREAK

What a time to turn it on aswell, the same week contract talk has started. The club would wanna get the deal done soon or we might be adding a few more spindoolies into his bank account then we can afford. Not that he isnt worth it!

teriffic by lids, really teriffic
polo was great too i reckon.. really hard at it and impressed me with his hands and composure

just btw.. who remembers the dream time game when hird won the medal..
lids was the best player on the ground by a country mile..
and although gary lyons a toss imo, he also couldnt believe hird won it rathe than deledio..
he was incredible that night :thumbsu:

Well he's got his old mate Picken from the Dogs on Friday so hopefully he can stand up to the heavy tag.

Although, this is what we have been waiting for since the beginning of the year.....there are only so many defensive tags a team can do. Do they tag Lids, Cuz or Cotch....and that's leaving out Foley.

Without wanting to talk it up too much as they still need to do 4 quarters and getting the 4 points will still need goals scored, but if Cuz is racking up possies, and Cotch and Foley are up and about, they have a dilemma on who they tag.

But as mentioned, he won't be a complete player until he is able to still have an impact with the close tag.

Dear Richmond Football Cub,

Please, please leave Brett Deledio in the centre square, you don't see Judd and Ablett playing all over the ground every single game, they play in the centre or go forward for a rest.
Regards

lids always responds well to a bit of scrutiny, recall when walls slammed his reputation after Franklin and ruffhead monstored us he had his best mth ever after that....would be in his memory bank that this 2 bit bum pantsed him last time...I've got a word of warning, LOOK out son,

He still has issues when he gets a good tagger...he needs to work on that ( and the team on helping him with it ), but the fact that he does keep getting the no1 tag shows what regard he's held in.

I was wondering when it was going to happen.

But after last night, the optimistic side to me is telling me he's gonna do it week in week out. Terry pulled him aside and said he could win us the game didn't he?
He needs to think that every week. Because he can.
I can't explain how happy I was to see him play a brilliant game. I love Lids to death and it was getting harder and harder to stick up for him against all my mates.

Out of curiousity was Cameron Ling tagging him in the Geelong game?
I know picken got the better of him but if he notched up 30 against Ling that's a decent effort.

his best is as good as anyone in the comp. marks overhead as good as anyone. kicks the pill as good as anyone on both sides of the body also. would be up there with the quickest players in the comp. if he could do it on a consistent basis people would be using him in the same breath as the judd/ablett types. boy this kid can play

i'm always happy to proven wrong. last week i bashed lids without mercy. last night he showed me that he has the tools. he needs to keep it up, though. he can flat-track bully the dockers all he wants but it doesn't hold much water. i know he can do better, look at the geelong game. more power to him.

Ablett was still playing on the HFF at the age of 21-22.

Don't expect Lids to be playing consistently at this level for a year or two, when his body & mind mature a little more, and his young teammates mature around him. If it happens earlier, take it as a bonus.

He didn't get tagged against the dockers but you can bet he will this week. The good thing is even if he doesn't tear the dogs apart, him being tagged will leave Cotch, Cuz and Axel free. If only we had had Cotch and Cuz for the whole season!
