Put this on our board - what u fellas think ?

Sitting at Uni today bored out of my brains in a lecture i pondered over our side for this week and the Cows.

Heres how i think the sides will line up - Given that some players out of position simply for the matchups that may occur

F - Wanganeen Primus White
B - Johncock Rutten Basset

HF - Francou Tredrea Ebert
HB - Shirley McGregor Mattner

C - Shattock K Cornes Kingsley
C - Reilly McLeod Thompson

HB - Walsh C Cornes Dew
HF - Goodwin Perrie Bode

B - Pettigrew Wakelyn Montgomery
F - Hentshcel Stevens Welsh

Rucks - Brogan James Cassissi
Rucks - Hudson Edwards Riccuito

Inter - Chaplin Cochrane Wilson Lade
Inter - Skipworth Biglands Torney Doughty

Ins - Wilson
Ins - Torney

Outs - Surjan
Outs - Hart

Cant see chocco changing much due to injuries and suspensions. I feel as tho NC may stick with the side that beat the pies. Doughty under the pump ? but i think hel stay in the 22.

I reckon folliwng matchups will happen:
K Cornes on Macca (has done it well in the past - and is a nemesis for andrew)
Shattock on Reilly ( hopefully will harass him and take his mind off the game - hes becoming not a bad player - but i think a bit of physical pressure will be the way to go here)
Walsh on Goodwin
Jamesy on Edwards (Or cochrane ) ?
Dom Cassissi to get Roo
Tredders and Mcgregor
C Cornes and Perrie

Il post it on both boards - see what we all think

I reckon we have the side to win and If Adelaide play like they did early last week we should win but its a derby and anything can happen.

My tip - Port by 15 points

My quick response from the Port Board.

Pretty good effort.

With K Cornes playing on Macca, I reckon we will push him forward (swap him wit Goody). Reckon Doughty to start on HBF, Mattner on a wing, Thompson on HFF & Bode on the bench.

Will C Cornes play on Perrie, as you had to move him off last game? Chaplin may get the job, leaving C Cornes to play his quaterback role. I would like to see Hentschel v C Cornes.

Hope Van Berlo comes in for Skipworth too.

Fair calls Kane

Id think if Macca went forward KC would certainly be taken off him and ud see a walsh or wanganeen put on him.

If doughty on a back flank ud expect him to be on an ebert type. Correct me if im wrong but Mattner usually plays on S Burg right - I think for u guys hed be a good matchup for the son of God.

C Cornes - not too sure - I think hel start there - but must be tighter and more focused. Mayb that isnt his game tho and chappy may well get the nod. I think C Cornes is too strong for hentschell (IM sure ul all disagree) but i reckon if C Cornes was picked up by hentschell it would be good for us.

Good get AW

Would Goody start in back or front? I would think Goody may play loose and I would start Torney on Ebert and Mattner on the wing in place of Thompson.Thompson for me would start in the middle with Macca more forward early puuting pressure on the Port backline early. There would be doubt and confusion if he snagged a quick one.

I would have Hentschel down across hb & stack our forward lines with mostly small, quick runners centered around the Sarge at chf & Welsh at ff.

We are not going to beat them with our marking power & our only hope is to dominate through the mid-field & run them off their legs.

F - Wanganeen Primus White
B - Torney Rutten Basset

HF - Francou Tredrea Ebert
HB - Hentshcel McGregor Reilly

C - Shattock K Cornes Kingsley
C - Mattner Riccuito Thompson

HB - Walsh C Cornes Dew
HF - McLeod Perrie Edwards

B - Pettigrew Wakelyn Montgomery
F - Biglands Welsh Johncock

Rucks - Brogan James Cassissi
Rucks - Hudson Goodwin Shirley

Inter - Chaplin Cochrane Wilson Lade
Inter - Skipworth Doughty Stevens Bode

Ins - Wilson
Ins - Torney

Outs - Surjan
Outs - Hart

If i had my way i would also bring in the Count for Doughty but there is not much chance of that happening.

Torney is out for another week with his back injury, i wouldnt be suprised to see Clarke in too if he's fit. I think it will be Begley and Clarke for Hart and [insert name here]

F - Wanganeen Primus White
B - Johncock Biglands Bassett

HF - Francou Tredrea Ebert
HB - Reilly McGregor Van Berlo

C - Shattock K Cornes Kingsley
C - Mattner Ricciuto Thompson

HB - Walsh C Cornes Dew
HF - Bode Hentschel McLeod

B - Pettigrew Wakelyn Montgomery
F – Rutten Perrie Welsh

Rucks - Brogan James Cassissi
Rucks - Hudson Edwards Goodwin

Inter - Chaplin Cochrane Wilson Lade
Inter - Skipworth Shirley Clark Doughty

Ins – Wilson
Ins – Clark, Van Berlo

Outs - Surjan
Outs – Ben Hart, Mark Stevens

Van Berlo to debut and play on a half back flank, play on Brett Ebert

Rutten(can kick goals may give the crows another goal kicker) and Biglands (IMO a good match up for Primus) go to different ends of the ground, just something different and may surprise the power

how about chucking mcgergor forward and putting stevens on tredders?

If Clarke and Thorney are fit:

Johncock Rutts Bassett
Goody McGregor Thorney
Edwards Roo Mattner
Bode Perrie Trent
Biglands Stevens Welsh

1R Hudson Thompson McLeod

IC Clarke, Shirley, Reilly, Doughty.

We need an experienced mid-size defender to replace Hart & for me JT is worth risking given neither Begley, Massie or Bock are setting the world alight.

I would play S Stevens as both a spare defensive & offensive KP option, however, I expect that the selectors will play Clarke instead.

Would debut Van Berlo, as I think he has more of a future than both Skipworth & Bode (who is under a cloud any way). Again likely that NC will stick with Skippy &/or Bode.

Doughty to start on the bench as a reminder of last week's soft effort.

K Cornes is their most prolific midfielder, so Shirley should get the runwith job.

Ins - Wilson

Outs - Surjan

With all Ports outs surely this is a good chance to take advantage and win one convincingly. If we can't win this week then the axe SHOULD BE/MUST BE swung.

Question: How many games do we give our "iffy" players ( we all know who they are ) before dropping them for good? Assuming they don't perform. Thoughts???

Our problem is kicking enough goals not just this week but for the whole year. The way i see it port kick 11 goals and they win they kick 15 plus they win easily.Thats why i did not think we would beat Collingwood as i thought Tarrant would kick 4 or 5 and Rocca the same we play alright in defence and our midfield can match it with the best but who is going to kick our goals.
I agree the axe must be swung but if you swing it who are we going to replace the outs with. How long do we give Mark Stevens?
The foward line we have had in the first 2 games is it there aint no one else!

Try something new

Give fergus a run. Play Hentschel up there permanently. Stick the birdman up there when he gets back. Play the three ruckmen and give the bigman biglands a decent chance up there with a few crumbers around him.

Don't know how long Stevens can last he looks a little underdone to me.

I agree. But I think NC is adament that Burton is a wingman, much to my disgust. I think he could be far more damaging in the forward line especially considering the current form of our forwards.

B - Doughty Rutten Basset

HB - Johncock McGregor Reilly

C - Mattner Ricciutto Goodwin

HF - Hentschel Perrie Ladhams

F - Edwards Stevens Welsh

Rucks - Biglands, Thompson, McLeod

Inter - Hudson Skipworth Bock *one of Torney/Van Berlo/Watts

Ins - Ladhams Bock Torney

Outs - Hart inj, Bode inj, Shirley inj,
(Burton still inj)

i think Ports win by 28 points - too much pace all over the field (unless Roo,Macca,Goody have blinders)

on radio this morning they said bode and shirley out
