The polo that looked the best was the one from 1999. Solid dark navy blue, with the Lions logo and the merchandising sponsor's name on it (both at a reasonable size, not too big). Very simple, yet very good.

It also had the quality and cut of a Ralph Lauren Polo.

I too think that GC polo looks better than the dross the Lions are serving up this year.

Wait until you see it for real.

Worst piece of crap I have ever seen produced. Had to seriously check that it was Reebok, because the quality was Best and Less.

Granted, that drawing looks much better than the finished article, but it's still shite.

The Board would have to notice the drop in sales.......................wouldn't they?

Maybe heads are still firmly stuck...um....in the sand tho!

I honestly thought their heads were stuck in each others clackers. But maybe there is some sand up there as well.

(I said that out loud didn't I...)

Re the old Russel stuff... I have a couple of old polo's circa 2002-04.
Still going strong, sure a little faded but 6 to 8 years old you have to expect that, maybe i was just lucky.

those first18 retro tees are amazing... i hate to say it, but especially the pies ones

Same ...... I also have an original 1997 maroon t-shirt..that 's faded from the 'Rich Maroon' to a Ruby Rose...with the original Brisbane logo across the chest... not bad for a piece of clothing from last century..:D.

on another note ...I have work polo's that are 3 - 4 years old ..Dark Maroon and they have faded just a tad...guess it comes down to the quality of the dye lots and the composition of the fabric....being work gear they are allow airflow (breatheable) and not cheap mass produced sweat shirts.... that style is not going to suit the merchandising department...where the pay bugger all and sell for squiilions..

I've got a navy blue Russell members' polo from 2005 (faded terribly and went to crap after about 4 washes) and a white Puma ladies' polo from 2007 that is still going strong.

Can't say I've been tempted to splurge on any paddlepop merchandise as yet, and don't plan on doing so, unless and until something in my existing collection falls apart.

And don't even get me started on the club's longstanding unwillingness to make members' polos in ladies' sizes...

I have a "Members 2001" polo, maroon body and blue sleeves with gold trim, still in great shape - except it's the wrong shape for me. It's an "AFL Official" by "Vivid".

Ah, me.... maybe I'll wear it next year........

There's a shop at the old DFO at Spencer St, sorry, Southern Cross train station, that have $35 Lions guernsey's, based on circa 2001 (i think).
It says 'Official AFL', but i'd say they aren't.
Best thing that, they only have the old Lions logo and AFL logo on them. No sponsor's names anywhere on them.
If you're at the 'G' this year, you'll see me and the wife wearing them.

I hope at our first match against the Dees in rd5, a news crew comes up and asks why we aren't wearing the new strip. They will need to do alot of editing of the raw footage after i'm done!!!!

A guy at work is trying to get his hands on a pre-2010 lions jumper.

Does anyone know who still may stock them? He reckons he has tried a few various outlets in Brisbane. I will be in Melbourne this weekend, so thought I would make some enquiries with you lot.:thumbsu:

Puma Store at DFO in Brisbane has had them recently. Try giving them a call.

Depending which part of Melb. you are coming to Dylan12, but we have a DFO next to Moorabbin airport, or other side of melb, they are at Essendon airport I believe..

Thanks Jorgo & MacMum for your responses. I will let my colleague know about DFO Brisbane and may even check out Morrabbin considering my family live in Beaumaris.:thumbsu:

In the recent presser re: Harvey, Voss was wearing a Kooga polo of a design I haven't seen before... could we be seeing the 2012 Team Polo already there?

Don't mind it with that prominent maroon slash diagonally across the chest and shoulders.

Yeah the new polo doesnt look too bad. Mind you, like last year - it can change after the season officially starts.

For the last few years now we have had a pre-season polo & a regular season one

Guys,

just thought I would let you know, KooGa are doing another Deal of the Week, and it includes our 2011 Media Polo for $15. I think postage is about $10, but still a pretty sweet deal IMO. Link is below.
