Swap for Rahilly

Trade - in: Swap for Spriggs and Rahilly - unsure who
Draft: National Selection #15, National Selection #31, National Selection #47, Shannon Byrnes (Rookie List)

James Allan

Additions: Rookie Selection #13, Rookie Selection #29

Thats my two cents worth - what do you guys think? And who could we get for Spriggs? Rahilly? I wouldn't mind a draft pick for Spriggs and a recycled player for Rahilly.

Im not trying to look like a tool for responding to my own post but I would like to have a crack at Bo Nixon for Rahilly. Word is that he is done at the Pies.

So I'd do:

1. Geelong trade James Rahilly to Collingwood for Bo Nixon

2. Geelong trade David Spriggs to anyone for a draft pick or player.

I reckon that its about an evens money bet that there will be at least one retirement this year from out of Graham, Riccardi and Sanderson.

This is important, as Byrnes cannot stay on the rookie list, his two years is up. It's either permanent promotion or bye-bye(god forbid) to Byrnes.

Will Slade is contracted on for next year so if Geelong delist him, they must use their last pick to get him back. Unless someone else snaps him up first.
You can delist him, but you have to pay out his contract and include that amount in the salary cap, which won't happen

I reckon thats a pretty spot on list. I would keep Sarge on the list though. One bloke I would like to see go, but wont, is David Loats. What has he done for us, fair enough he has been injured for a good part of the season but when he came in he did nothing. Sarge and Moons, even McCarthy at times have a done good enough job relieving Kingy.

Byrnes has to be promoted, be the dumbest move not to keep him. Also, if Spriggs wins the VFL B&F he keeps up the unfortunate tradition of the VFL B&F being either delisted or retiring.

2001: Paul Corrigan
2002: David Mensch
2003: Andrew Carrazzo
2004: David Spriggs??

Thats certainly one award I would not want to be getting!! ;)

Agreed. Unco gives 110% and id rather him for cover than Loats. Loats was a poor move IMO. We knew he had had bad injury problems and we still went after him. Is it any surprise that he's played like 1 match this year?

Geelong's not exactly in salary cap trouble and I doubt Slade is on a Lance Whitnall style contract, maybe a 10th of it.

I think it was the other way around whereby quite a few people were calling for Hunt to be retained.

Spot on.

We ran a concerted campaign, both here and on Cats Claw, to keep Josh on the list.

i think we are gona have to elevate Luke Buckland because I know that there have been 3 clubs that have already contacted his manager about joining them next year.

He's been in sintilating form in the last 7weeks and he is certain to hit 90kgs over the summer .

Is it worth it?

Can rookies leave mid-way through their contract? I would have thought otherwise, though something tells me Jorgensen left on his own merits. Those who know more, feel free to correct me on that one.

As for Buckland, would definitely keep him on the rookie list another year.
