Love to see how you guys view this too.

As per AFL ruling, there are three options for a list structure.

A)
Primary List: 38 Players
Cat A Rookies: 6 Players
Cat B Rookies: 3 Players
Total Rookies (Max): 9 Players
Total: 47 Players

B)
Primary List: 39 Players
Cat A Rookies: 5 Players
Cat B Rookies: 3 Players
Total Rookies (Max): 8 Players
Total: 47 Players

C)
Primary List: 40 Players
Cat A Rookies: 4 Players
Cat B Rookies: 3 Players
Total Rookies (Max): 7 Players
Total: 47 Players

How ours looks at the moment;
Primary List: 35 Players (Required: 38-40)
Cat A Rookies: 4 Players (Max: 6)
Cat B Rookies: 0 Players (Required: 3)
Total Rookies: 4 Players (Max: 9)
Total: 39 Players (Required: 47)

List spots available:
Primary: 3-5
Rookie: 3-5

Draft Picks:
4, 28, 67, 79

How I think it will go...

Current Primary List: 34 Players
* Use three picks in national draft (37 Players)
* Elevate Lewis Pierce with pick 79 (38 Players)

Current Rookie List:
CAT A: 4 Players (Joyce, Marshall, Langlands, Pierce)

* Elevate Lewis Pierce to senior list (3 Players).
* 3 Players from Rookie Draft (6 Players).

CAT B: 0 Players
* Rookie draft three selections within NGA, International, or a maximum of one Irish rookie. (3)

Total:
47 Players (Structure A)

Which would mean that out of the players currently OOC (Lonie, Longer, Pierce) we will re-sign all of them.

Isn't Joyce cat b or is his new contract cat a?

Do we have to go into the draft with a set list structure? Or can we decide in draft?
No not at all, but by final list lodgement the list needs to reflect one of those three options.

Longer and Pierce still unsigned.
Surprising with Hickey traded.

Surprising with Hickey traded.

Maybe that's not from our end?

With Hickey gone I would think that Longer assumes he is the #1 guy but Pierce's finish to season 2018 showed a lot of promise.

Both could be holding our for more cash or security.

What is our current situation?

We've got Brandon White, Bailey Rice, Nathan Brown, Jack Newnes, Jake Carlisle and Jarryn Geary out of contract.

Assuming all of those re-sign, we'd have 44 players on our list, which is actually all we need. 38+6, 39+5 or 40+4 in terms of senior + category A rookies.

We've delisted 4 players already but we had 48 on the list. Alabakis is a category B rookie, which means he is an additional player to the minimum 44. If we wanted to, I think we could move him to a category A spot, so that he counts towards the 44.

But, we could possibly lose White, Rice, Roberton and McCartin, and maybe Newnes, Brown, Bruce and Steven. Any player that leaves from now on needs to be replaced.

So it's looking like a very busy period for us.

Carlisle has a contract for next season. White, Rice, Brown & Newnes are the ones up in the air as far as I know - Geary will get another year.

On the other hand, we've delisted two senior listed players (Armitage and Longer) and are keeping two added players (Marsh and Mayo, although I don't know what part of the list they'll end up on).

I think White and Rice are highly unlikely to stay.

I will have a go .

Carlisle , Brown , Geary will stay .
Newnes will seek somewhere else but will stay if no interest .

White and Rice will have to wait until after the trade and draft period to find out their future .

Longer , Armo , Pierce , Robbo , and Paddy will all retire due to injury concerns .

Marsh will get a 1 year contract if he hasnt already .
Mayo will stay as a rookie for now .

Unfortunately i think Bruce will sign a big contract with Bulldogs .
Steven will go to Cats , thats if a deal can be done with Bulldogs and Cats .

Rowe has retired .

I get confused with rookie stuff so i wont go into that lol.

So i have the possibility of these players being traded or delisted or retired due to injury or age .

Armo , Rowe , Rice , White , Bruce , Steven , Newnes , Longer , Pierce , Robbo and Paddy .

Dont want Robbo , Paddy , Bruce and Steven to go but i would say thats going to be out of our hands .

Wasn’t Geary extended after the China injury
