People living in the future, are looking forward to what they are striving to achieve, so they are constantly working hard while others are just living life the way it comes to them (nothing wrong with that). Or dwelling on the past

That's actually quite true

I think maybe the most successful have a bit of both?

Aka

They spend 30% of the time in the future - making plans, thinking about ways to achieve goals and the best ways to live (constantly analysing society and their own strengths and weaknesses and making them work).
And then 70% of time in the present - turning these goals into realities, taking care of the ordinary and miscellaneous
