My mail is mostly on the money the mail is lloyd has fallen out with knights over a few things no excuses for lloyd but our skills and game plan are just plain awful so that dosent help. Our club is at its lowest in over 30 years very ordinary football admin, crap coaching staff ,crap president, and awful list. Some players seem not interested and there skills are totally fu__ed

thats a bit harsh "awful list" id say developing list, and as for lloyd, he is struggling, but the ball isnt exactly coming in well to him.

Hmmm well our kicking over the past 2 weeks looked alot better than it was against Richmond, Collingwood e.t.c but nevertheless if the players have fallen out with Knights only after 11 games then the club has made 1 big blunder!

Seriously why don't you just follow another club ?
Whinge ,whinge,whinge.
Knights may not ever be a good coach but we are where we are at becasue of the faults in the previous 6 years. It is going to take a good 3 to 5 years ,maybe longer ,to build our way out of the spot we are in now and nothing will change this.
Lets face it tactical faults aside what can Knights do with a side that is close to the worst in the league at finding the footy at clearance's and are shocking at turning the footy over ?
People just have to face facts. Our midfield personal are not up to it. McVeigh is hard at it and strong at the contest but he is not a natural midfielder and does not have the natural instinct to find the footy cleanly at stopages.
Stanton is a winger. He does not have clean hands in the middle and what he does with the footy by foot is seriously questionable.
Monfries has not shown he can find it in the middle yet.
McPhee has no idea.
Houli and Myers are still too unexperienced. Myers does actually show a bit of nouse in the middle but he gets knocked out of the contest easily at the moment.
As for Lloyd well if he cant take the heat then he can bloody well hit the road. He needs to be stripped of the captains role as he is brining nothing to the table as an on field leader goes.

not saying all players i think a few of the more senior players have i will find out more over the week

And a few of the more senior players may well have to be shown the door if we are ever going to go anywhere!
There lazy brand of footy does not cut it anymore and a few of them sound like they are sulking a bit becasue they have been found out and may not be hearing what they would like to hear.

Sounds to me like the broom needs to keep sweeping....

Ant - always respect your posts -sounds like you are coming to the end of your tether with some players???

Guess it is just frustrating seeing the danger signs that where there four or five years ago and now having to pay the price.
The list needs some serious work. We have too many seriously unskilled players who continue to make the same mistakes.
People can stick their heads in the sand all they wan't but there is a reason why most people outside Essendon dont rate our list all that highly.

My mail says that Lloyd should stay at FF and not play as a defender.

Seriously why don't they kick it to Lloyd and Lucas 1 on 1 more often. They can both clearly take contested grabs. I don't know why we were chipping it round in the 2nd half when we should've got it in quick and long.

They chipped it around becasue Hawthorn had the middle of the ground zoned and where pushing number back down into the space in front of the forwards. It is the same way the Bulldogs broke up the zone last week.
We actually did pretty well at it until a few skill errors brought us unstuck and we conceded a few goals in a short space of time.
The plan was ok we simply did not have to manpower or the skills to pull it off for four quarters.
If we had of simply bombed it in long it would have been truned over a good number of times.

Fair enough Ant

Actually can't say I blame them if they're getting disillusioned. The mixed messages coming through from the media and supporters about us being clapped out deadbeats, vs the propaganda about developing for the future is all getting a little hollow. Especially when we're getting beaten by teams with even less experience, and more injuries. To see loyal stalwarts like JJ being left out, and watching young fellows like Ted Richards blossoming once they leave the club, I'd be wondering how much longer you'd keep trying for too. Matty loves the club, and for us still to have a star like Scotty on our list is nothing short of a miracle. But it is time these guys get cut some slack, they're not lazy or disinterested - I'd say more frustrated

You can see via the selections that we are not going out there to win games.

We are trying to be competitive while playing kids that aren't ready.

You may not like it but it's going to be a pretty black year.

List is no good because of poor drafting in 00-04.

Lloyd is not the player he once was. Neither is Lucas or Fletcher for that matter.

Most players looked interested to me out there tonight. Skill is what was lacking.

Fair call. I liked what I saw out there tonight for 2 quarters. The youth policy will work. It takes time, maybe 2-3 years but this group will come through together if you get loads of games into them. Good on Matty Knights for playing the kids. Patty Ryder will be a gun player too. Might have got touched up a bit tonight but he was matched up against the best forward in the game. (apolgies to J.Brown).

The way he is going in my view he will more than likely be the best forward i have seen. Has taken his game to a new level this year now he is also taking contested marks more consitantly.

Is Lloyd still having issues with his hamstring or carrying a minor injury? I don't think it has anything to do with laziness, I could have sworn I saw him with a slight limp at one stage tonight.

If Lloyd really is disgruntled with the way things are at Essendon it worries me deeply. Surely he hasnt fallen out with Knights after only 11 weeks? Shattering news in a poisonous season.
Knights could be the worst thing that has happened to Essendon. Guess we just have to stick with the club and hope the kids really are prospering from their extended gametime this year. I am very confident that we are on the right track. We competed well against the team 1st on the ladder tonight. Second half was disappointing obviously.
Lloyd hardly got any service tonight. Sad to think that Lloyd/Lucas/Fletcher will play out their careers in a pathetic and miserable side that loses week after week:(

When it comes to judging his own game, Lloydy is very sensitive and harsh on himself. The amount of preperation he puts into every week is amazing and he is focused and usaully likes to be alone.
He wants to lift so badly but his body won't allow it to happen, after that hammy he hasn't been the same:( He can't bend over to pick up the ball and goes to ground quite a bit.
To say Lloyd isn't interested is just supidity and is feeling extremely down at the moment

If some of the players have fallen out with the coach after 11 weeks i would be asking why they are not having a decent look at themselves. Lets face it Knights may be making some mistakes but he has not been a major part of a side that has been ordinary for 4 seasons now. The players have.
