Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Lower, Duigan (Coad, Toy, Stanley)

Swan, Boyd, Pendlebury, Bartel, Swallow, Harris (Prestia (DPP), Heppell (DPP), Bewick)

Sandilands, Cox (Lobbe (DPP), Z.Smith)

Franklin, S.Johnson, Riewoldt, Higgins, Petrie (DPP), Krakouer, Richardson (Matera, Dixon, Darling)

Pretty happy with the start. Interesting that people are wasting money on Tippett who wont play any games this year, when you can pay just 12k more and get Lobbe who will be playing SANFL R5 or R6.

Also interesting that people seem to have still gone with Sylvia.

Ive gone risky and picked 8 GC players more than most people it seems.
Very Very similar to mine for this year. Only 6 players different. I chose a very 'bland' team but wasn't confident in many others. Wanted Everitt but just couldn't put him in because of the bye rounds and i never seemed to get the balance right with him in my team. Agonised over Easton Wood too but he was not in my team for very long. Otten was in there for a while but was never too confident in him so as soon as i head NC talk about him as a possible substitute he was out.

Really wanted Foley as well but realised i was sacrificing too much just to get him in and finally decided to go with 2 starting midfield rookies and 3 guns which i had generally been quite keen on. In the very short term it seems like a good decision. At one point yesterday i went for the 4 gun setup and Kennedy with Selwood in the team briefly so again i dodged another bullet there (was never keen on Selwood though).

Anyway the only points of difference are:

Broughton - Duffield
Coad - Scotland
Bartel - Kennedy
Lobbe - Tapscott (Petrie in my rucks)
SJ - Harvey
Higgins - Knights

Goddard, Gibbs, Delidio, Duffield, Grimes, Lower, Duigan (Heppell, Stanley, Toy)

Swan, Boyd, Pendlebury, Scotland (B), Kennedy, Bewick (Swallow, Prestia (F), Harris)

Sandilands, Cox (Petrie, Smith)

Franklin, Harvey, Riewoldt, Knights, Krakouer, Richardson, Tapscott (Darling, Matera, Dixon)

Rather weak forwardline but hopefully it is enough to get by. Very confident in Krakouer, Richardson, Matera, Dixon. Chose Dixon just for that crucial job security. If things go badly astray i can trade in a R/F cheapie and put Petrie into my forwardline but that is more of a last resort option.

Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Mackie, Heppell, Lower, Duigan (Puopolo, Toy, Pedersen)

Swan, Boyd, Pendlebury, Goodes, Curnow, Liberatore (Swallow, Bennell, Harris)

Sandilands, Cox (Nicholls, Z.Smith)

Franklin, S.Johnson, Riewoldt, Didak, Pavlich, Krakouer, Richardson (Matera, Prestia, Tapscott)

Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Duigan, Lower (Otten, Stanley, Harris)

Swan, Montagna, Bartel, Foley, Harris, Heppell (Bewick, Prestia, Atley)

Sandilands, Cox (Vickery, Z.Smith)

Franklin, Sylvia, Goodes, Riewoldt, Higgins, Krak, Richardson (Tapscott, Matera, Darling)

My midfield is risky enough, but I'm happy that with DPP I can cover most byes and outs. Also decided to go with Vickery on the bench in the rucks as I think he will play most games for Richmond and should only improve. I'll take 50-60 covering for Sandi and Cox byes.

Its scarily similar to DWD's team actually  Only main differences are Pendles V Goodes and Swallow V Foley and Vickery V Petrie.

Final side:
Backs Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Grundy, Lower

Mids Pendlebury, Palmer, Djerrkura, Krakouer, Bewick, Liberatore

Rucks Sandilands, Cox

Fwds Franklin, Sylvia, Harvey, Goodes, Riewoldt, Brown, O'Keefe

Bank: 55.6k

Reserves: Atley [E], Heppell [E], Richardson [E], Batchelor, Buckly, Duigan, Harris, Smith, Moran, Matera, Darling

Haven't posted my team yet, didn't want to reveal some of my secrets...

BACKS: Goddard, Bruce, Broughton, Gibbs, Lower, Grimes, Heppell (Coad, Duigan, Lester)
MIDS: Swan, Murphy, Montagna, Sloane, Ward, Harris (Bewick, Hibberd, I.Smith)
RCKS: Sandilands, Cox (Smith, McCauley)
FWDS: Franklin, Reiwoldt, Sylvia, Higgins, Fyfe, Knights, Krakouer (Richardson, Darling, Prestia)

My main worries were Duncan or Fyfe, axing Leunberger (who will explode this year) and going with Sloane and Ward. If those two pay off, it will greatly help my cause.

Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Lower, Duigan (Stanley, Toy, Hibberd)
Swan, Montagna, Pendlebury, Bartel, Foley, Ward (Prestia, Harris, Bewick)
Sandilands, Cox (Tippet, McCauley)
Franklin, Goodes, Riewoldt, Knights, Petrie, Krakouer, Richardson (Tapscott, Darling, Matera)

stock standard premiums and rookies.
however took a chance on 4 midpricers... foley looks like he's flopped already, but will give him another week to redeem himself, otherwise, out: foley, in: best performing rookie + 100+k ;)
also need one of ward or knights(hopefully both) to work out.
petrie was out of necessity for ruck cover.

So really if you look at the players on the field difference we are different like this.

Broughton - Duffield
D.Stanley - Scotland
Higgins - Knights
SJ - B.Harvey
Bartel - Kennedy (assuming you'll play Harris on the field)
Petrie - Tapscott

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes, Stanley, Duigan (Lower, Hibberd Batchelor)

Mids: Swan, Boyd, Montagna, Pendlebury, Swallow, Harris (Heppell, Prestia, Bewick)

Rucks: Sandilands, Cox (Campbell, 80ker)

Fwds: Franklin, Goodes, Reiwoldt, Stevie J, Knights, Krakouer, Richardson (Matera, Darling, Pitt)

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Enright, Deledio, Duffield, Stanley, Duigan (Lower, Hibberd R.Tarrant)

Mids: Swan, Boyd, Bartel, Palmer, Krakouer, Harris (Heppell, Swallow, Bewick)

Rucks: Sandilands, Cox (J.Tippett, 80ker)

Fwds: Franklin, Goodes, Reiwoldt, Pavlich, Knights, Petrie, Richardson, (Matera, Darling, Tapscott)

$900 spare.

DPP options are highlighted.

I'm happy with my team. Backs are my strongest point with 5 keepers.
Mids are on par with most teams, with Palmer being a mid-pricer who I hope can average 90 to upgrade later on.
Rucks are the best available with Tippett and Petrie being able to DPP to cover byes for Cox and Sandi.
Forwards are pretty much cookie-cutter.

I have a few unique players which may set me apart(negatively or positively) which are:
* Enright (yes, I say he is unique this season, just check this thread and tell me how many people have Enright...)
* Duffield
* R.Tarrant
* Palmer

Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Broughton, Grimes Heppel and Stanley
Heppel Toy Duigan

Swan, Boyd, Bartel, Mitchell, Foley amd Harris
Hibberd Iles Bewick

Sandilands and Cox
Smith Moran

Franklin, Johnson, N Riewoldt, Higgins, Knights, Krakour and richardson
Matera Tapscott Darling

I don't think they're that bad, not as bad as I anticipated.

Few differences at least per team, some good midpricer picks and a range of unique premiums such as Duffield, Mackie etc.

Hmm, maybe. There are some slight variances amongst all teams.

Basically a pool of 60-70 players that everyone has picked from. Anyone from outside of this pool, is considered "unique"

In fairness, the byes (particularly the multi byes Rd 4 and 6) forced a lot of decisions wrt how many premiums you could take. If Rd 4 was Saints, Melbourne and Richmond, you'd be seeing some more variable teams.

I think the number of GC rookies exacerbates this too.

1. stop saying Lobbe will be playing SANFL round 5 or 6, you don't know that. and he still might have work to get a game. but I think you've done excellent work with your rucks, aside from your misinformation propoganda campaign.

2. I'm slightly horrified to see, that some structural issues aside, your side isn't far from mine :D :p

How have I "wasted" money on Tippett when he gives me so much versatility and scoring potential through Petrie ?

Our teams have similarities. You've the stronger mids and me the forwards.

Mine:

Goddard, Gibbs, Broughton, Grimes, Everitt, Lower, Stanley (Duigan, Buckley (DPP), Batchelor)

Swan, Boyd, Bartel, Foley, Harris, Krakouer (DPP) (Heppell (DPP), Bewick, Liberatore)

Sandilands, Cox (Tippett (DPP), Z.Smith)

Franklin, Goodes, S.Johnson, Riewoldt, Higgins, Knights, Petrie (DPP) (Richardson, Matera, Tapscott)

Foley hurts this week, but will repay the faith.

Buckley is the one player I don't like. I wanted his DPP, but doubt his JS. He may surprise and I was prepared to take the risk.

I read McKenna saying that he only expected Toy to play about 8 games and that the player who'd surprised him most was Prestia. He didn't think that Prestia would get early games, but had come on better than expected. I sensed that Prestia was only one, or two games away from playing seconds. I liked his DPP, but ultimately saw value elsewhere.

I'm hoping that the bolded are keepers plus Petrie for bench purposes; and that midpricers in Everitt, Foley and Knights reward their selections with averages of 80.

Wanted D. Swallow, but just couldn't get him in.

Made a few changes at the last minute due to no hibberd mainly. Otherwise would have had DPP links to backs. I'll just trade it in instead. Other change I made very close to lockout was ditching Iles for Conca....... hm.... will see how that turns out. I think $$ improvement from Conca over 9 rnds vs. Iles 7 will probably work out. Also got too nervous about Knights so ditched him and used the cash to turn Jolly into Sandi.

Final team......after much (and continuing angst).......

Backs
Goddard, Gibbs, Bruce, Deledio, Grimes, Lower, Buckley.......Toy, Duigan, Batchelor

Mids
Swan, Boyd, Montagna, Boak, Krakouer, Conca......Harris, Swallow, Heppell

Rucks
Cox, Goldstein......Smith, Moran

Forwards
Sylvia, Riewoldt, Rioli, Higgins, Gray, Knights, Tapscott.....Richardson, Darling, Matera

Toy, Stanley, Duigan

Mids: Swan, Boyd, Anthony, Heppell, Krakouer, Savage
Swallow, Harris, Wallis

Rucks: Sandilands, Cox
Smith, Bailey

Forwards: Franklin, Didak, Sylvia, Reiwoldt, McGlynn, Higgins, Richardson
Darling, Matera, McKernan

A little risky going only 3 starting mid premiums (and you could argue that Anthony isn't a premium, but that's neither here nor there). See how it plays out

BTW Kane Lucas being the sub (when named on the field) has OFFICIALLY made me hate the sub rule and its implications on team sheets, which are now NOT HELPFUL.

Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio, Grimes, Otten, Lower, Duigan (Heppell, Coad, Stanley)
Swan, Selwood, Pendlebury, Boak, Kennedy, Salopek (Harris, Swallow, Bewick)
Cox, Ryder (ZSmith, McCauley)
Franklin, Goodes, Riewoldt, Pavlich, Gamble, Krakouer, Richardson (Prestia, Matera, Tapscott)

B: Goddard, Gibbs, Broughton, Grimes, Tarrant, Heppell, Lower; Duigan, Stanley, Toy.

R: Sandilands, Cox; Tippett, Smith.
F: Franklin, Stevie J, Riewoldt, Goodes, Knights, Krakouer, Richardson; Tapscott, Matera, Darling.

Oh man... I'm such a noob. Just noticed my Rnd 5 bye conflict... stupid Tapscott! :thumbsd:

How have I "wasted" money on Tippett when he gives me so much versatility and scoring potential through Petrie ?

you didn't, the extra few $'s unlocked Petrie to give you real ruck cover.

most of the teams with Zac Smith as 3rd ruck are taking a huge leap of faith that he will be an adequate backup for the bye, based on very little.

they might get lucky, but you have actively managed your risk.
