Can someone please tell me where these 2 players are. Hope they are not injured. Havent heard anything about them at all this year. Thanks.

Lokan has a bit of form for Willy. Playiong ok but his problem is he has been surpassed by othe players who are betetr than him, eg Swan Maxwell and Rowe.

Lonie's good enough to replace Davies Rowe or O'Bree, but he's soft in the head.

If only we could morph them into one player with Lokan's attitude and Lonie's natural ablity.

On form he has always been good enough but there was a lot doubt if he would be able to take his game any further

Dropping Lonie (and for so long) is a gutsy and risky move by MM in my opinion.
Lonie, while he is no dud, is just travelling, but if he could step up the the next level he would be great. MMs move on Lonie was risky, as it could make or break his career. One of 3 things could of happened:
1. He keeps playing ok footy for us and cruises through games
2. His confidence is shot at willy, he wants out
3. He realises he must work as hard as ever to reach the next level.

No. 3 is the only acceptable solution. If he doesnt want to play for us thats his problem.

If he thinks he can cruise through the VFL season and get traded to another AFL club at seasons' end, he may be in for a rude shock, because his career might come to a sudden end, and he may end up seeing out his days in the VFL for Frankston.

and that would be an absolute shame...if it came to that then that would be one of the biggest waste of talents anyone has seen for a while

Ball's in his court. If he wants to play AFL then he has to play like a gun week in week out in the VFL.

His twin brother's doing no better - coincidence or do we just overrate them?

yeah well thats it isnt it....the way Ryan especially burst onto the scene at the start of his career, there is no reason he cant be doing that now

just a lazy, complacent attitude, and as you said hotpie, he is soft in the head

Nathan im not sure on, would leave it to hawks supporters to make comment on him

Nathan just struggles to find any type of consistency. He's got a booming kick but his decision making leaves you wondering sometimes. He has had trouble wrapping up forwards and the defensive end is the only place he has any hope of breaking back into the best 22.
He's just looking at a number of defenders in front of him and until he shines in 3 or 4 successive matches for Box Hill, he's on the outside looking in. He's been a disappointment this year.

ditto Ryan

They've both gone missing since Big Brother started. Maybe they are the twins in the house.

Ryan Lonie is a massive dissapointment, but it may all be good as Brodie Holland was dropped at the early stages of 02 and he rebounded strongly in 03 and 04...

Question guys, tonight on WhiteLine Fever , Tony Shaw said Lone would be a good pickup for somone to play on the wing.
I remember his kick was extremly good but how fast is he? Also if you did trade him , what do you think you would want/get for him bearing in mind a guy playing VFL always lose's value. We had to delist Spriggs last year , no trade could be arranged and Swans picked him up for zero

Lonie is pretty quick but has slowed down a fair bit since his first 2 years due to him bulking up. He has pace and knows how to use it well (unlike Cole) that is one of his strengths.
Lokan on the other hand has a fair bit of pace but cannot evade his oponent.
The strengths of Ryan Lonie:
- He is quick
- Great kick - definately top 3 with Buckley and Didak
- Is a handy size 190cm and pretty strong in the body
- Is an ok tackler
- Can beat his oponent
- Great goal kicker
Weaknesses
- Not good in most one on one contests
- Bad mark
- Can't really find the ball, has to wait for it to come to him hence him not being a wingman
- While he can beat his oponent he cannot get the ball while doing so. He either plays a game where he gets plenty of it but his oponent has a good game, or he gets a handfull of possies but beats his oponent.

He does show flashes of brilliance looking like he can do anyhting. Sometimes he'll absoloutle pants someone in a one on one contest but most times he will lose his footing. Same goes with is marking ,now and again he'll take a couragous mark or hard contested mark and other times he doesn't even try.

i agree that his skills are great, and we are missing his precise kicking and greta pace and ability to break the lines...but he is also soft, and squibs contests, and is just lacking confidence

someone needs to get in his ear soon and tell him to pull his finger out at Willy, and i believe he will be back in black & white pretty soon
