With Phil Read and Siera out for the season, is there any way we can bring in a player or two from our rookie list? I'm not too sure on the 'long term injury list' and how that works, if someone can fill me in that would be great!

I am pretty sure if a player is out for the season the club can promote a rookie off the rookie list. What happens at the start of the new season however, I dont know.

Promoting Dean Buznan is a good idea and perhaps Miller or McCarrey. Beek is injured for a long time so no point in promoting him

Kris Miller from East Fremantle played a few Ansett Cup games and could be used as a goalsneak. I don't know much about McCarrey - what club does he play for?

I think if a player is put on the long term injury list and a player gets promoted in his place the injured player cannot resume for the rest of the season. Something like that.

But do we need to promote a rookie?? Our list is young enough. We are better off playing the youngsters on our list than those on the rookie list.

It used to be the rule that the Rookie list Players could be on the Rookie List for two years. I dont know much about McCarrey. But Buszan and Zac Beeck come with big raps and may turn out to be great prospects. Kris Miller has plenty of work to do in order to be elevated. I just dont see a spot for him. Whereas the other guys are talls. I think it is better to gamble with talls and persist a little if they show a bit. Talls take a little longer to develope.

The issue is if we elevate them to the rookie list it will cost us to do so. This I think would affect our Salary Cap. So if we elevated them during the year, as we did with Kasey Green, we should really play them. Based on their development I dont see any of them playing this year. Best to wait until the end of the year and elevate them. As we did with Dean Cox.
