Horse has done his apprenticeship, and he has been loyal, but considering the recent(past few seasons) history of clubs signing youngish ex-player coaches, how long, or what results, does Horse have to do, or prove himself with, before the board, and us fans, start chanting for Kirky? I'm behind John, no doubt, and I have confidence in him, but what if a rival club puts $$ in front of Kirky? Does our Kirky want to coach?..I say yes, but, I rekon he is SO loyal, he would only consider coaching us...but $$ lure the best of men into evil..and could we stand for Kirk going to another club?

Who, this guy?

Would love to get Kirk to Brisbane as an assistant coach. In a year or so, we'll do a coach exchange program with Simon Black, then we'll swap back after a couple of years.

Kirky won't be coaching for a while from what I've heard. He has some job as an international ambassador with the AFL or something.

From what I've heard him say about the role, I think Kirky will coach eventually and I would think the Swans would do everything in their power to have him back here. Possibly as a development coach to begin with.

And besides, he can't be the next senior coach as the club has clearly shown that Playfair is our next senior coach. Starting him off as a development coach is the first step in the inevitable ascension to the top job. Perhaps Kirky can be his assistant.

I'd love Kirky to be an assistant coach but I don't think I'd want him to be senior coach. Too many players have their reputations tarnished when they're chewed up and spat out by the system. Roosy was the exception, not the rule.

are you serious about Playbad ? i would rather McHack (did i say that)

I would love to be on bigfooty when it happened, but sadly I was joking.

Well preferably I'd like us to win a couple of grand finals during Longmire's tenure. That's much better than us sucking so badly that we have to sack him. I want Longmire to be a successful 10 year coach. Because if you're coaching a single team for 10 years, that team has probably done well. About a decade from now Kirky can take over.

Kirky doesn't have the communication skills to become a coach, will never happen.

Calm down I believe RoR is being facetious. We all know what a great communicator Kirk is. His work ethic on the other hand is a significant speedhump to becoming an effective coach.

Agreed, he showed too much languor on the field, needs some kind of life defining moment to wake him up and set him straight if he wants to be successful in the coaches box.

Um yeah dammnit Kirk has no work ethic, got delisted twice and didn't give up... not like he stepped up work ethic or anything..

he shows no spirit and is soft. He is always giving up and not doing the team thing. We shoudnt conider him

This is a really good point. I'd rather Kirky just remain the legend he is. Look at Vossy, he's had his arse kicked this year. I wonder how Hirdy will go at Essendon. Roosy was definitely an exception.

Kirky makes my heart sing :D

Love love love
