After his disappointing run against the best field ever assembled on an Australian racetrack last week, The Big L is about to get his consolation prize in the McKinnon Stakes.

He should start well in the red. I would suggest that any price better than $1.60 would be value. This is a great opportunity for anyone who did their balls on him last week to get them back.

Plunge on him like there's no settling because he will ***** in. This is the goodest of good things.

Don't be a MUG any more

Should win but you can have him at the $1.70.
Cox Plate runners have an abysmal record in the Mckinnon in the last few years.
Weakest Mckinnon I've seen for a while though.

Seth.

true that it is a weak field, but a horse like 'dash for cash' would be getting my money e/w before lonhro.

the only good advice i ever received from another punter was - never, ever bet odds on.

Yes KT I'm with ya on the 'Dasher' i'll be backing him each way.

My other picks are;

MR1 - Palladium Star (each way)
MR2 - Trifecta (all ways) 1,2,4,7
MR3 - Pass
MR4 - Trifecta (all ways) 3,8,12,14 (a little bit each way 14 - Gwendolyn the roughy)
MR5 - Lashed (straight out)
MR6 - Helenus (straight out) throw the roughy - Zylvester in your multiples (very unlucky last start).
MR7 - Dasher (each way)
MR8 - Lord Essex (straight out) (Top second up form).
MR 9 - Redwood Falls.

Best bet - Lord Essex
Double - Lashed into Lord Essex.

Now that I've publicly stated my tips watch them all run like crabs!;) :D

It was probably the same punter who told ME.

Did he also tell you not to run upstairs?

as it happens, no he didnt, which is a good thing as i do enjoy running up stairs.

with you on paladium star shermanator, looking good

If Lonhro doesn't win this by panels, then I never want to hear from it again. Whack it in the Tie The Knot category, send it back to Sydney and don't bother us again.

That said, I'm taking each way about Royal Code. He just might be the only horse in the field that has beenset for the race. David Hall places his beautifully, Brett Prebble owns this week and the slight query at the 2000m is mitigated by the apparent lack of pace in the race.

Other races:

Too late for the first. Would have tipped Palladium Star, ran second. The first horse's form was definitely not worthy of 100-1. There's always one big one this week, and it seems I slept in and missed it.

2 - Not in a great rush to get involved. Don't let Cool Trent get under your guard - much better suited back to the sprints and will be odds.

3 - 1, 5 & 6 but I'd prefer not.

4 - Pernod, best of good things. Will win. Chuck Tickle My in the quinella.

5 - I've done bupkiss in this race since Arborea, and I can't see that changing today. I like Fuji Dancer, but I'll be betting small.

6 - Since 1992 and my favourite Derby winner Redding (a much, much better horse than Mahogany, if anyone's interested) I've liked maidens with good lead in form behind the favourites. That said, none of them have managed to salute since, but everyone's on the bandwagon with Davidoff this year. So, just to be difficult, I'll have a place interest in Ain't Here and Zylvester.

8 - Raffle. Great race, but a raffle nonetheless. If I have a bet, I'm refusing to let Chong Tong beat me down the straight ever again. He's already got me three times, the prick. Go Chonga!

9 - Do the form for the trots instead. Impossible.

$2.00 on the giddy goat was a pleasant surprise ... but by geez we had to sweat for it.

Great ride by the Preacher. Had it beautifully positioned and then lifted it home when it looked beaten.

I was given the tip of Terrible Taurus in Sydney by one of the locals at the pub, so me and my mate backed it and also chucked it into our quaddie.
It paid $65 which we were very happy about, we had three legs of the quaddie come in, but our 4th leg didn't so we missed out on...............wait for it................$32,000!!!!!! (so close yet so far!!)

Heirogram you piece of *#@* crap!!!!!!!!!!!

Bad luck on missing out on the quaddie mate. It's always hard to take when you get the really hard leg and still only get a tripod result. If you can could you consider putting your future selections for the quaddie up on my quaddie post, please.

We got tipped Terrible Taurus at the pub and it wasn't part of my original Quaddie, but if I get a chance in the future I will definately put my two bobs worth on your post Paulie (not that it will be much help to anyone)

PS: I stuffed up, Helsinborg was the horse that cost us on Saturday not Heirogram...too many Chickenmen Horses running around - I can't keep up with them!
