Look Up, not Down...a plea

I just came from the Shockers board and see that some of us have been sucked into comparing Freo with us.

It is an insult. They are the wooden spooners, worst side in AFL. Even with our injury ravaged side we thrashed them twice. Let's see match ups against Brisbane and the Bombers. Set our sites high, not on the lowlifes who perennially sit in our shadow.

Ohh, but you forget Frodo, their team has potential. Thats more important then the fact that their team SUCKS !

They also have Croad, who will play FF, CHF, Ruck, midfield, FB, CHB, etc all at the same time, Farmer will kick 150 goals, Longmuir will clean up every ruckman in the comp, and their midfield consisting of such greats as Cook and Walker will eat everyone alive.

Damn, with such a team they could add another trophy to their cabinet, you know, the wooden one

Now if you don't want to hear the truth from me so often then there are two things I suggest 1) Write things that are not laughable 2) Don't come in here.

I know I shouldn't constantly argue with Freo supporters, but I just can't help it.

I hate the Shockers with a real passion.

- Maybe it's the purple in their jumpers.

- Maybe it's the bunch of nancy's that they have for a playing list.

- Maybe it's the fact that they've been using the word 'potential' for six damn years now.

Whatever it is, I love nothing more than the Eagles opening up a big can of whoop ass on them.

And Jako winning the Ross Glendenning Medal - That was the ultimate.

I think one thing with eagles supporters is that they've always been with the eagles.
Whereas a large number of freo supporters were once huge eagles fans and probably still have a soft spot from them.
I used to support the eagles, but I was born in freo and was a huge Souths supporter, so when freo came into the AFL I switched to the dockers. Plus I was coached by Clement for a while down at claremont jnrs while he was on the dockers rookie list.
But I've still got a bit of a soft spot for the eagles and support the eagles when they are not playing the dockers.
But when it comes to the durby, all bets are off

I guess my post was one that was tagged as "sucked in". Well, I guess there are times I sit down and talk about the game in a whole. Though I stated my opinion on the Shockers board, they are the team I still despise the most. Yes, it comes from rivalry, but I also think the colours and the jumpers did turn me off in the beginning, but I admit I also hate the fluro vomit jumpers the Eagles now wear.

Yes, I dislike the shockers more than any other side, but I also don't like all the AFL sides but my own. What we do share here is a passion for the teams we love and I think it's healthy. At times we do spit the dummy at the opposition and they return it with equal venom, I still am proud to know that I can go to a game of footy, hang absolute **** on the shockers and my mates who do support them and then have a beer with them after the game with no hard feelings with each other.

The best part of our game is the passion and we are also unlike many other teams and international teams of other codes who do riot coast to coast after a loss or a win.

Us Aussies are shown to be passionate about our game and still sit with an opposition supporter with a drink and talk to him or her about their team with real sense.

Being an Sth Aussie, I grew up for 12 years barracking for Port Adelaide. I never switched sides when the power came in because I believe in loyalty to your team. No offence to the former Eagles who now support the shockers, but I just can't switch sides so easily. I still keep an eye on the Maggies in the SANFL, as well as the Black Ducks in the WAFL.

Bugger Collingwood.....never followed any team in the AFL till the formation of the WCE.
