Dead-set downhill skiier. I don't call him Hollywood Lovett for nothing.
He jogs around the place when we KNOW that he is fast, VERY fast "when he wants to be". That is the problem ... when fast when he FEELS LIKE IT.
He is a lazy footballer. Attacks the football one-handed and that causes him to overrun the football time and time again!!

Shocking today. Likes running to receive the ball, doesn't like chasing. Would like to have seen him isolated inside 50 today.
Is excellent overhead (except for the one he dropped in the 2nd qrt) and fast on the lead.

I think you guys are being very harsh! Lovett is the spark in our side who ignites the midfield. With a little more experience and knowledge he will be a good player.
However he does need to learn how to chase but i think he will in due time.

The frustrating thing is that the club (Sheeds) held him back early in his carrer to learn the defensive components of the game, particulalry defensive tackles with opposition players coming out of the backline. It seems he has lost this part of his game. The loss of Froggy has also highlighted this. Like I keep saying, promote Hocking and let him play a Paul Chapman type role in our forward line...

He's a bit too cocky. He tried to bounce the ball after it had pissed down raining FFS!

their pace should suit the large subiaco ground
when the ball only goes inside our forward fifty 42 times, and when our tall forwards our too lazy to lead, it makes it very hard for a small half forward
lloyd and lucas just put there hand in the air which makes it very hard for our ball carriers. then when they rarely lead they are too slow and the ball gets punched away......
then they end up on the ground and it is left to guys like lovett to chase. then after they chase a couple of times they are buggered and it effects their next couple of contests

No one said to bring them in. But guys like Dyson, Reimers, Hocking and Houli should get a game ahead of Lovett after todays performance.

When was the last time Lovett put his hand up and played a good game when the result was on the line ?
He doesnt , 2 or 3 times in a game he flash's in with a nice run and then fades away again. He gives us nothing. He should be playing like Davey did , chasing running etc .
He is a showbaot who plays his best footy when others are playing well . When we are gong badly he is no where to be seen .

The biggest fault with Lovett is that he seems to lack endurance and can't play a consistent game of footy and doesn't turn up to play enough anyway. He goes missing for 3 quarters most of the time.
I'd love to see him work on this over the next pre season.
