Done so well in so many ways. But for mine it is always about winning premierships. Finishing 8th is not good, finish runner up is always could a, would a, should a land. You can learn from it potentially but means nothing if you do not follow it up with success. All kudos to Eagles they have the glory and deserve their success. All other 17 clubs another season without the ultimate success. There ain't no second prize.

Been a fan of LeBron James since he first entered the NBA. He has the most Playoff Points in history, the 5th most Total Points and 7th most Regular Season Points. Next season he should climb to 4th for most Regular Season Points, and then 3rd the season after that.

The NBA season has started and Nowitzki is injured. LeBron will catch him very soon for Most Regular Season points. I will update at that time.

With Shaun Marsh having recently passed 10,000 runs in first class cricket, with dad Geoff he forms the first Australian father-son combination to achieve this feat.

Some other Australian family combinations I know about are:

Two brothers scoring over 10,000 runs:

Ian Chappell 19,680; Greg Chappell 24,535
Steve Waugh 24,052; Mark Waugh 26,855
Mike Hussey 22,783; David Hussey 14,280

Sheffield Shield stats #cricket

The Sheffield Shield began in 1892 but a final was only introduced in 1982-1983. The minor premier must merely not lose to win the title, thus wins by the visiting team are rare:
1996-1997 - WA lost to Qld
1998-1999 - Qld lost to WA
2002-2003 - Qld lost to NSW
2004-2005 - Qld lost to NSW
2015-2016 - SA lost to VIC

And a random stat, most outright wins in a season:
8 - Queensland (1999-2000)
7 - Western Australia (1977-1978)
7 - Tasmania (2010-2011)
7 - Victoria (2016-2017)

^lol random!

1902-08, 1920, 1923-28, 1930, 1932, 1934-38
1940, 1942-43, 1945-48, 1950, 1952-54
1956-58, 1960, 1962-65, 1967-68, 1970
1972-76, 1978, 1980, 1982-87
2013-19, 2031, 2034-39, 2041, 2043, 2045-2049

Only 7 unique years between 1988 and 2030!

I was fascinated recently while watching the cricket to hear that Ravi Jadeja has 3 triple centuries in first class cricket. He has only 10 centuries all together and this made me curious as to how many innings he needed to reach his third triple century, as not many batsmen have scored 3 or more triples. This is where he stands:

Innings required to reach 3 triple centuries

Ravi Jadeja 62
Don Bradman 73
Bill Ponsford 83
Cheteshwar Pujara 137
Mike Hussey 235
Brian Lara 384
Graeme Hick 708
Walter Hammond 759
W. G. Grace 1198
