I had to look twice as well. Ross Lyon really didn't rate some of these mature agers from the state leagues it seems (Broughton and now Lower). There is no way he should not be on an AFL list though next season, surely someone will pick him up?

He would be an absolute gun at a team like Melbourne IMO, a team like GWS or GC would also have to be insane to overlook him if available in the PSD or even RD. Extremely good inside midfielder, uncompromisingly tough and prolific clearance winner and his kicking issues are overstated, frankly I'm a little bewildered by this.

Was happy to defer to their knowledge and experience in list management but really, this raises the question, do they actually know what they're doing?

He might be depth but I'd still consider him in our best 25 players, good teams have quality depth players.

I shall be amazed if he lasts through to the rookie draft. Another odd decision, but obviously RTB had decided that the likes of Mello, Shero, Spurro, Sutty, Nealey, Clancee, Crozzie Bear and Danyel Pearcey all offered more than either Broughts or Lower. Not a view I agree with - those young kids are promising, but they need some mature bodies around them for another year...

I guess we won't be drafting mature agers this year, unless at KPD/KPF.

So on that reasoning we should have delisted everyone who doesn't fit in the best 22 .
Was easily in our top 25 to 28 when fit .
Last year he was one of our best week in week out .

Didn't expect that at all. He is still contracted for this 2013 so would have to be rookie listed.

Try and makes sense of this. We have two players who are contracted for 2013 and who would have to be payed out if delisted early. These players are Jack Anthony and Nick Lower. Who would you rather keep and who would you rather pay out early?

You just don't delist really strong depth like that.

There would be quite a lot of people that would disagree with you on that. You only have to look at his average output in the three games that he played for us this year. He would kill it at another club and if he is smart he would try his luck elsewhere through the pre-season draft.

I was genuinely shocked when I saw he was delisted.

But you do have good depth in that position and as mentioned earlier it doesn't look like Ross rates the mature aged recruits.

Wonder if he will get a third chance

Might have to agree to disagree then, I would have Lower and Griffin as the stiffest players on our list for not being regulars. Would be interested to see what 25 you rate higher tbh.

Also MUFFIN, would be nice if you could cut the histrionics for once and accept people have opinions different to your own.

Lower is so overrated on this board. He has awful disposal and does not know how to play to his limitations like De Boer.
