News Luke Ball Re-Signs

IN A show of faith following his early-season knee reconstruction, Collingwood is set to agree to terms on a two-year contract extension for key midfielder Luke Ball.

Ball, who turns 28 on Friday, will become the latest contractual domino to fall into place at Collingwood, which began the season with 12 premiership players out of contract, including powerhouse forward Travis Cloke.

I went to the Telstra store on Bourke St last Thursday after seeing Daisy tweet that Bally would be in store for a meet and greet. I got there nice and early and got to have a chat with him for a bit. He was a friendly, positive bloke and even, get this, signed a poster for me, saying "Yes, Morgan, I will be your best man - its an honour". I have joked with people that Bally is such a top bloke that I want him to be the best man at my wedding. And when I said this to him in jest, he laughed and signed the poster for me. Was an awesome thing that he did. He also said he hopes to be running in a month or so, and that he was happy to see Krak and Caff doing the same.

This story is just a highlight for me, and really makes me feel so proud and inspired that he is a Collingwood player. He is a genuinely good bloke, and we all wish him the absolute best on his road to return in 2013.
