Luke Jericho Delisted

I was just reading that Luke Jericho has been delisted by Adelaide. My opinion was he was not too bad if not a pretty handy player. He is Only 23 and fits in the youth policy. Could he be worth a no1 PSD.

I think whether we use our PSD pick depends on a few different things -

1) Whether we can get rid of Carroll
2) Whether Wonaeamirri and Valenti are upgraded.
3) How many picks we want in the ND.

He did do preseason with us this year and given the flick.

I think Alwyn Davey met a similar fate too with us so who knows.

Interesting thought though.

North Nelbourne would be a ideal club for him namewise.

Yeah I think I read somewhere that he might be one of the worst kicks you will ever see. Makes Frawley and Carroll look skilled.

He might have been worth a go last year when we looked short on defensive options, but now our defence looks settled I wouldn't want him.

I don't know why we are that worried about trying to draft a mature makeshift tall forward. We have Miller and Bate who go ok and Newton and Robbo should provide enough to round out a forward line for the next couple of years, so not much point drafting more list fillers. If we really think someone can make it then we should take them, but otherwise lets just go to the draft. It's not like we are the dogs and need a tall forward immediately.

We've tried fixing it the past 6 years with no luck. He is tall, lightning quick, flashy but wont go near a pack and will never give his 100%

I've heard Adelaide supporters say on numerous occassions that he'd be good as a 3rd tall in a good forward line where he wouldn't be a focal point.

Guess what? The bottom side has a sh_thouse forward line and he'd cop at least the 2nd best defender. Not a horrible player, but he's not what we need right now.

Melbourne could use Jericho.

He's 24 in a couple of days and given every opportunity he'll kick 35 goals next season.

He really is worth the shot IMO.

If you have been trying to fix it for 6 years, i don't think we will have much luck. IMO i would rather pillage the draft and spend 3-4 developing a 17/18yo who will be in our next premeirship side, which i envisage will be in 2012.
