Luke Livingston

Just curious on what some of the supporters thoughts are on Luke Livingston. Does he command any trade value? will he still be at the club next year? will he be delisted? what's your thoughts on him?

Should still be with us in 2004 but with the way Pagan is playing him (or not playing him) I wonder if he has a trade in mind. On that note if he comes in for the last few games, Denis may be trying to get his trade value up.

I think the kid has ability but needs some quality game time. The only real minutes he has played in his career thus far is as a fullback in a backline under siege. Seems to prefer a forward role but gets rotated on to the bench too much.

Has shown Carlton very little in the 2 seasons he has been playing. Especially disappointing seeing he was the #4 selection in the draft, and Carltons highest ever draft choice.

Will be used as trade bait, but I suspect will be on list next year.

No patience at all... give him time, hes only young still, has to develop... just because it takes longer than Judd, doesnt mean he is a dud

If we can get a good player for him, then we should let him go. Has not developed into a full back, as he was drafted for. If he has the speed and agility, why not try him in the midfield??

I'd contemplate a straight swap with Brent Reilly of Adelaide.

If he doesn't command much at the trade table then I think they've got to stick with him for another year atleast.

Well, he finally has been named!!!

I'd give him one for year to repair his confidence and see if he can prove his worth. But sadly, it looks like that he can dominate at VFL level but cannot do to well at AFL level. He'll have to show more coming into his thrid year of senior AFL football. Giving him a job down back has failed, it just seems that he looks more at home up forward. With a little confidence, who knows what he could do?

He's too short and weak to be a kpp, not quick or skilled enough to play midfield or a flank, the man is gone.

People don't just develop into good footballers, they either are or they aren't. Development makes them better, but they need to be good to start with. Thornton is a decent footballer who will develop to being the req'd standard to be considered good by league standards. Same with Waite. Livingston has never showed me anything to say he was even competent in the first place. Whatever reason, he's been killed since day one. Thornton hasn't.

If there is a good offer, he will be GAWN !!

But, and it is a big but, he does deserve to be perservered with based on the sterling job he did last year in defence. Unfortunately he is not a defenders bootlace and must be played in the forward line, if given the game time there, he might respond and show what he really has to offer.

All talk of him being a full back is utter codswallop.

Starting to show a bit in recent games. Deej and I are constantly at odds over Livo, but I'd like to see him persisted with for one more year.

Hopefully a big game against the Roos.

You would think he could show something for a number four pick eventually. With all the delistings we will have this year, there is no harm in keeping Luke and working with him a bit more.
