It's not really a tall order, a more accurate rating scale, way too many players with a rating over 80. Back in the day you used to have anywhere from 99 to 30 something. Far more realistic, the talent at NFL level vary's greatly.

Never use the official rosters for Franchise, you're much better off using one of the custom rosters that dudes put out.

What I've found in franchise is that the deeper you go, like year 7,8 on, those high ratings seem to thin out with less xf & superstars. There's some franchise guys that up their xp sliders to help boost those numbers. Took me like 5 years to find a decent corner and wr in a recent incarnation.

Well that's good to hear at least, it just seems nowadays that they try to please every teams fans, give every team a couple of superstars when that's no actually the case in real life.

That tournament though, man, I hadn't heard about that, any time you can replace a QB with a punter and exploit the game to victories, it's a terribly sad state. The most important position in all of sports doesn't matter. Sickening.

Problem is that the further you go (i.e. if you make it 10-15+ years in), you end up with very few 90+ OVR players at all because the progression system is flawed (and the ones that do are almost always guys who exist IRL). There's a reason that plenty of XP slider sets use 200%+ XP for certain positions just to make them viable

Franchise was improved in 20, hopefully we'll see the same again in 21.

You all are looking at the Madden Champ farce the wrong way as Joke exposed some major issues for all the gaming world to see, embarrassing EA mightily on his way to the title. Has EA been enjoying the feedback? Err, no. Will this help them refocus on producing a better game? Most likely. Will we (& by 'we' I mean those of us that actually play the game, not those sitting in the cheap sheets throwing dogshit) be the end winners out of all of this? Again, most likely but yeah it is EA so there's a scenario or two where they continue to butt **** their end users, I can see that.

Franchise mode is great - I'm loving it despite the odd gamer rage moment

Once you get 10+ seasons in and up the difficulty (I'm on All-Pro) you get fewer good draft picks and 90+ players and salary caps are harder to manage so you need to be smarter with your rosters and development

I go 2 x TE and 2 WR set ups - WR are exremely expensive salary wise - you can have 2 x high 80s TE's for the price of 1 x WR - and money is tight as you go along

I've tweaked with various offensive and defensive formations and finally found a set up I'm comfortable with

Went through a 5 year patch at one point when the Seahawks and Eagles were the bane of my existence EVERY YEAR and i couldn't beat them (I'm playing as my Redskins)

Still frustrating as hell. A couple of injuries can curtail your season.

Having to trade down all the time to stay under the cap.

Finding superstars in the draft not easy especially in some of the defensive positions
