I get he would be embarrassed and there would be a range of emotions going through his head, especially when he's probably got alcohol in him.
Strikes me as a guy that has a lot of mental struggles. He did ghost her the first time and said he had a lot going on. Certainly don't think that's the first outburst of emotion he's had in his life. No excuses for his carry on though.

Exactly and in the end it's his story and it was impactful to him. Different events effect people differently for a whole lot of reasons.
To keep going on about it means she has obviously been told to put Elliot in his place. I don't think she is going to come out the hero she thought she would be.
