Following this draft, it has come to my attention that Collingwood as of now, have 4 tall forwards  [yes very surprising isn't it]

Anthony Rocca, Chris Tarrant, Tom Davidosn, Bill Morrison.

Seems to be getting awfully crowded in there doesn't it ;) . How often is it that you see 4 tall forwards roaming a forward line? All of them are big mark takers, all of them play either FF or CHF (Or in Tarrant's case, more off the flanks). Chances are that not all of them can hold down 4 spots in a forward line, it is simply too crowded. The most I can imagine is 3 of them in a team, 4 is too many as they would be getting limited oppurtunities as of such.
The left out forward will no doubt want to move out and move on, as he is being deprived of oppurtunites at Victoria Park. With Rocca being Vice-Captain, and likely next Captain of the club; and Tarrant being ultimate mark machine of present times; it is likely that the unfortunate forward will be Tommy Davidson or Billy Morrison. And guess who will be at the front of the que for their services...we will :D . To get either one of them would be huge for us. Tommy Davidosn is labelled the next Tarrant and is rated a better grab than Taz, whilst we all know what Bill Morrison could be like (Rated as the next Jonno Brown).

It's a theory right now, but a damn good one if you ask me!

The only time I've seen more than 2 big power forwards roam a forward is in Brisbane (Lynch, Brown, Bradshaw) or maybe even Geelong (Ablett, Brownless, Stoneham)

P.S: Only problem could see Davidson or Morrison move down to CHB. Highly unlikely though, as it Jason Cloke seems to have that pretty covered, and it would be an absolute waste of teach of their talent

Didn't we already have the opportunity of drafting Tom Davidson at the end of 2002 and decided to overlook him??

Yep 2001 Draft actually

We took JB, and Kelly then Gardiner and Johnson with consecutive picks in the 20's. Davidson went about pick 28 from memory. He was there if we wanted him.

Exactly, and if we didn't pick him up back then, I can't see us wanting to pick him up now, especially after a knee reconstruction.

Any talk of Davidson being potentially as good as Tarrant is just Collingwood trying to talk his price up if they decide to get rid of him. It's a bit like Cameron Thurley... until they actually prove themselves in the AFL, any talk of how good they are is just speculation at this stage.

I think i can speak on behalf of all Collingwood supporters when saying. No Thanks.

Davidson can play either forward or back so same with Morrison but not as good in the backline. So it wouldnt be too crowded. But dont forget we have Cameron Cloke who in the 190's and Travis Cloke who will be drafted next year who is also in the 190's. We also have Josh Fraser and now Brent Hall as rucks and can play KPP if needed.

We will be in about 4 years have the best talls in the league by a mile.

If you had any chance you would get Davidson because he's from Geelong.

Hey Geelong, are you forgetting one Benjamin Kinnear AKA Jesus Christ. He is better than all these players AND can play in the backline just as good as he can in the forward line. He can also ruck. WOW!
With Ben Kinnear you won't be needing Steven King, Matthew Scarlett and Gary Ablett, Ben Kinnear will cover all these holes AND THEN SOME. That's right, Kinnear is a very athletic player.

Big Cats........

Not sure if my memory serves me correctly, but didn't Geelong (about 5 or 6 years ago) play the first half of the season with Brett Spinks, Barry Stoneham, David Mensch and Billy Brownless all in the forward line. They did really well in the beginning and their season got off to a flyer but as the weather worsened so too did the Cats' forward line performance. Can anyone confirm?
