ok ok so we all understand Mick is 'safe' for 2005..................

BUT would be interested in the thoughts of Pie fans on his future after that.....................

if the Maggies dont play finals next year.......................which i think is his last year of his coaching contract.................will/should he be reappointed for 2006?

This really does belong on the Collingwood Board, but I do appreciate that the greater football community is fascinated with everything to do with the Collingwood Football Club.

Why not? After all, it is on the main board, would it be worth while saying no?

I would comply with your request, but thanks for the opportunity to comment.

OK. Micks a wan ker.

I think Mick is in real trouble this year bcos he hasn't set the Pies up for a tilt at the finals next year, they need to build some momentum now or else things could turn nasty for the preseason at pieland.
I think Mick is a monty to join the sacked coaches club in the next 18 months.

anyone can feel free to respond my name is not Eddie!

seriously though...................when you examine their list which probably doesnt have the depth of young talent that a lot of clubs do.................coupled with not a lot of room left in their salary cap for big time recruits...............it is surely a concern for MM.

i would think that the Collingwood FC have every right to propose an ultimatum to MM that they must make the 8............as the Dawks did with Peter Sob last year.

He is contracted till 2007 , he's had a poor 2004 but I am more than happy that he is coach of the pies and I trust he will make the appropriate changes at the end of this year so that we can improve for 2005.
I can't predict what my or others reaction will be if we don't make the finals next year as there could be extenuating circumstances why we don't , other than the coaching not being up to standard.

If we have a similarly ordinary year next year I'll be calling for his head by years end. However I believe he will be at CFC for another 2 seasons after this regardless of results.

We will make the Finals next year quite easily if we keep our stars out of the medical room.

We do however have some mid-term issues we need to address so that we are competitive over the next few years before most of our 19-23 bracket hit their straps and we start to dominate :)

ah optimism.........the most conniving of thoughts............especially when one's aspirations & abilities are confused!

Malthouse and Collingwood have to stop this idiotic trip to QLD in the middle of footy season to lay on the beach and play golf, last year they did it in the finals.
It is making them soft and rewarding them for doing nothing, have you footy trip after the season is over.

I see where you're coming from, but I think we'll pull off a big trade this year - I have no idea who, but I've just got an inkling that we'll nab a bit of a surprise.

Besides, after missing on Stevens and Brown, they owe us.

Will we make the finals next year? I think so.

Assuming our injuries are better than this year, it will be hard to stop a forward line of Tarrant, Rocca, C.Cloke, Davidson, Fraser, Didak etc.

S Crawford.

FACT, as long as eddies at the helm, malthousewill be coach. by the way i wasnt happy with what he said about buckley being captain as long as hes coach.

He has done well with the list the maggies have to get them to a grandfinal, he will get them backup there. You can still notice that he has a soft spot for westcoast, whenever asked about westcoast he will go into depth about them and always rates the eagles highly for the future.
