If Collingwood don't make the finals with a better injury run than this year then I'd replace him if there was a suitable replacement. A lot also depends on how it appears the players play under him. IE do they look like they are playing for him or with real spirit.

I wouldn't sack Malthouse after 2005 irrespective of how we perform. He would deserve another shot. It would take a Hawthorn-like meltdown at the club for MM to leave at the end of next year.

By the end of 2006 he will have had enough time to have plenty of young players churn through the list. If not enough of them have made the grade then his head will be on the block.
